Taylor Swift Gives Fans 'Chills' With Her 'Reputation'-Coded VMAs Look
Taylor Swift is known for her flawless style, so it's no surprise that the "Bad Blood" singer dominated the red carpet at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The pop superstar arrived just a few minutes before the ceremony was due to start at 8 p.m. ET. She struck a pose as she waited for photographers to capture her look for the evening, which comprised of a plaid yellow and black dress.
The outfit featured a corset top and flowing skirt that opened in the front to reveal the pair of short black shorts that she wore beneath. She paired the look with a matching plaid choker, thigh-high black boots and leather gloves that featured several cutouts and reached well past her elbows.
The "Cruel Summer" songstress projected confidence as she posed on the red carpet before heading into the event, her long hair left to flow down past her shoulders as she showed off the memorable look.

Fans reacted to photos of her look online, with some calling her "Absolutely mesmerizing!"
"Queen, I respect her," one fan tweeted as another declared the look was "slaying as always."
"I definitely got cold chills," an X user agreed.
"Her outfit screams reputation!" one fan insisted, referencing long-rumored plans about Swift's re-recorded version of her 2017 album Reputation.
"You look like reputation," another insisted sharing a photo of Swift at the 2024 VMAs beside one of her from her rep era where she's wearing a ver similar plaid shirt.
Well into the awards show, the pop superstar was seen rocking a totally different outfit that made fans even more certain she was hinting at a rep-related announcement.
"it’s happening it’s happening I’m not ok," one joked.
"im not clowning," another quipped before adding snake emojis, a reference to the album. "im not clowning not at all."
"IM GETTING MY REPUTATION TV TONIGHT!! YOU THINK IM INSUFFERABLE RN JUST WAIT," a third exclaimed.
While her Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend, Travis Kelce, wasn't by her side at the ceremony, the NFL star said on a recent episode of the New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his older brother Jason that he hoped his girlfriend would "walk away with some moon men" by the time the night was over.
When it comes to those "moon men," Swift has been nominated for 12 awards at this year's ceremony—more than any other artist. Among the potential prizes the "Lover" songstress could nab are video of the year for "Fortnight," artist of the year, song of the year (also for "Fortnight"), and the trophy for the VMAs' Most Iconic Performance for "You Belong With Me." As of writing, she has already earned one award, taking home the title of Best Collaboration for "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone.
Before this year's event, the pop superstar has been awarded 23 VMAs over the course of her career and could break Beyonce’s solo artist record if she nabs enough trophies on Wednesday evening. Swift scored nine of those awards at the 2023 VMAs alone, with her wins including Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Song of the Year and Video of the Year.
