Heidi Klum, 51, Defends Her Racy Fashion in Pointed Message to Critics: ‘I Want to Show My Body’

Heidi Klum has graced magazine covers and fashion runways for decades, and while this week she made headlines for her latest over-the-top Halloween costume, the supermodel also recently caught some heat for her racy fashion.

Now Klum, 51, is clapping back at the critics, pointedly speaking up for herself and her sartorial choices, noting that “I’ve always been relaxed about my body.”

In an interview with The Times published on Nov. 1, Klum spoke out about her decision to wear revealing clothing.

“I’m not shy about my femininity. I love dressing up where I have my cleavage showing, wearing miniskirts, high heels, gorgeous stockings — but that doesn’t mean I want to go home with you,” she said.

Klum continued, sharing that it’s “just my personality. Why not? I want to have fun and show my body, but I have boundaries, as do all women.”

She also talked at length about her interest in fashion, even as a child. “There’s this carnival in Cologne every year and I used to go on the float. My grandmother was a seamstress so I always had lots of outfits, or my mum would make something for me and my Barbie to match, which is amazing as Mattel rang me one day and I have my own Barbie now,” Klum pointed out before revealing that her Barbie is the only one with underwear.

“it always bugged me that they were naked. I didn’t like how none of them wore any underwear, it’s undignified. Mine has a cute pair of pink knickers and a bra painted on. I’m very proud of that,” she said.
