Warning: This article contains spoilers about The Traitors season 3, episode 7.

Last season of The Traitors seemed to divide the house between “gamers” (those that came from a reality competition background) and “non-gamers” (folks that had no experience in voting people out). And while season 3 appeared headed the same way in its opening stages, it has instead blossomed into a full-on civil war between the gamers — and this week’s episode claimed two more victims.

The chaos first erupted during last week’s Roundtable when Survivor’s Caorlyn Wiger attacked her fellow Traitor, Big Brother’s Danielle Reyes, for dropping her name while Danielle tried to vote out Survivor’s Boston Rob Mariano. Meanwhile, Big Brother’s Derrick Levassuer came hard at Boston Rob, who successfully deflected the vote onto the banished Wes Bergmann of The Challenge.

But that only set the stage for more infighting. Wary of Derrick coming for him, Boston Rob convinced Danielle and Carolyn to murder his adversary. “He came right at me tonight,” he argued. “Come on, Danielle. At least let me get my revenge there. I feel like if you want to start building back and figuring out a way to work together, at least give me that.”

“Okay, if I give you Derrick, can we start over?” Danielle asked.

And give up her closest ally in the game she did. For his part, Derrick took his murder in stride, telling the camera, “I got respect for Rob. If I had been in his position, I would have murdered me as well.”

Before his exit, Derrick told Dylan Efron that he also suspected Big Brother’s Britney Haynes of being a Traitor. Once Dylan relayed that information to Boston Rob, the Robfather had his opening. He started pushing Britney’s name out to the others, claiming he was being framed for Derrick’s murder because it would make him the obvious suspect.

For her part, Britney promised the camera that if she went down, she would go down swinging: “I am just not going to peacefully leave this castle. I will light a match, and throw some gasoline, and I am not breaking. Bring it on.”

Rob certainly brought it. “Who has the capability to be able to understand a game move like, ‘Let’s kill Derrick to frame Rob?’” he asked the group. “Who has the ability to do that here? Truthfully, between the four of you, I think there’s only one answer. There’s one person that understands game moves and understands strategy. Britney, I don’t know if you’re a Traitor, but you are my number one suspect.”

Unfortunately for Rob, Britney “was convincing as hell” as to why she was a Faithful, according to Dylan. And the table agreed, as Boston Rob received seven out of 12 votes — including ones from fellow Traitors Carolyn and Danielle. “At the end of the day, I did my absolute best,” Rob told the camera after his exit. “I understand why Carolyn was scared of me. She really had no reason to be. I legitimately would have gone to the end with her. As far as Danielle goes, I think she’s a bad Traitor, bad game player, just bad all around. But I’m proud of the way I handled myself.”

As for the war between the gamers, after so much attrition, there aren’t that many of them left. And now there are only two Traitors remaining… at least for now. With next week’s murder happening face-to-face, one can’t help but wonder if the victim will be given the option to avoid elimination by joining Danielle and Carolyn in the Turret. Considering the drama and dysfunction that has been happening there all season, maybe that’s not the slam-dunk decision it would seem to be.
