Sunrise's Monique Wright savages co-stars after embarrassing moment

Sunrise star Monique Wright has hit back at her fellow presenters and workmates after revealing she was teased mercilessly for one of her outfit choices. The star talked to fans on Instagram in a tight black dress, which had a puff sleeve detail and a white dickey collar.

Although she looked stunning, her colleagues couldn’t help but compare Monique to Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. The caption on the video read: “That time Mon looked like Wednesday and everyone told her so.”

She began her message with a heavy dose of sarcasm, saying it was “so lovely” to be working alongside a “supportive crew”.

“When I walked into the studio this morning, I was asked whether I had come in a costume today. Whether I was Wednesday from The Addams Family, whether I was a headmistress, a schoolgirl, or an undertaker. Thank you so much,” she said through gritted teeth.

Not one to shy away from poking fun at herself, The Addams Family theme song then played as Monique clicked her fingers to the beat while mastering the Wednesday stare.

Fellow Sunrise star Mark Beretta was quick to comment on the social media post, saying that Monique “definitely” looked like Wednesday Addams.

Other fans flocked to the comment section to agree with Mark, with one saying that Wednesday Addams was ‘the first thing they thought of’.

“Beautiful all you need is the black hair and plaits. Just think you already have your costume for Halloween,” another quipped.

“Was thinking this before reading your caption,” a third admitted.

Other fans thought Monique looked like a nun, while some begged her to stay on Sunrise permanently.

“Haha love it! Monique, I know you do have a life but sorry, being a bit selfish, can we please have you on Sunrise every day of the week?! Just love your humour and quick wit together with your interviewing skills, perfect combination,” a fan gushed.

“You are a breath of fresh air!! Thanks for brightening up our days,” added a second.
