Sunrise's Monique Wright praised for 'hilarious' dance: 'Love this'

A video of the Sunrise team attempting the viral Wednesday Addams dance has been praised, with Monique Wright’s 'awkward' performance being singled out. The dance was originally performed by Jenna Ortega, who plays the title character in the hit Netflix series.

Many celebrities have jumped onto this trend with the likes of Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and Marina Diamandis attempting the strange dance. On Monday, the Sunrise Instagram account shared a clip of Monique, Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington and Edwina Bartholomew putting their own spin on it.

“It might be Monday, but we are really feeling Wednesday vibes in the studio,” the caption read.

The video begins with a close-up of Monique’s serious face, as she slowly moves her shoulders up and down to the beat.

The moment that fans couldn’t get enough of was Monique’s next move. In true fashion, she went all out and looked extremely uncomfortable and 'awkward'. Bringing her arms up over her head one by one, it seemed as if she was hitting herself with the jerky movements.

Fans went wild over her 'hilarious' moves, with one begging the show to give Monique her own Instagram account.

“I’m on board with anything Monique does,” a fan commented.

“Love you Mon! You put the sunshine in Sunrise. I love everyone else too,” another added.

“Lol. Peeing myself with laughter,” a third chimed in, while another wrote: “Mon’s dancing is THE BEST!!”

Others suggested that Monique and Shirvo should take over Natalie Barr and David ‘Kochie’ Koch’s roles as permanent Sunrise hosts.

“Love this!!! Oh how great it would be to have Monique and Matt as the hosts. They do such a great job,” one pointed out.

“Love you both, let's have more of you two,” another agreed.

“Mon, Shirvo the A team should be on all the time,” a third added.
