Sunrise stars shocked by 'disturbing' on-air guest: 'So funny'

Sunrise fans have been left in stitches after the breakfast program went 'rogue' with a segment on Friday morning.

Sharing a video to Instagram, stand-in hosts Monique Wright and Matt Doran are chatting behind the desk with news presenter Edwina Bartholomew and sports presenter Mark Beretta before they realise their floor manager had dressed up as The Grinch.

"There was chaos on the set of Sunrise and The Morning Show this morning as The Grinch took over, flinging Minties and annoying hosts," the Sunrise caption read.

In the video, Edwina laughs and holds her hands up in confusion as Monique says, "Can I just ask why Mitch the floor manager is now dressed as The Grinch?"

The hosts then all lose it as the cameras pan over to the floor manager wearing the hilarious costume, with the stars all clearly perplexed as to what is going on.

"It's disturbing actually," Edwina can be heard saying before Matt says, "You see his personality really coming out".

"Do you know what, it's actually how I see you when you're telling me to shush," Monique chimes in.

The floor manager can then be heard yelling at the hosts to "go to sport" before Monique follows instructions and tries to move the show along.

"You don't often get introduced by an Irish Grinch," Mark then says before delivering his report.

Fans lost it over the hilarious segment, with one claiming Sunrise goes "rogue" over Christmas.

"This was so funny, I couldn’t stop laughing," a fan commented.

"Love Sunrise made [me] laugh," another added.

"This is the best lineup for Sunrise!" a third praised the stars.

Sunrise star suffers massive on-air fail

The program has been sharing a number of hilarious moments from the show with Matt's massive on-air fail exposed on Thursday.

The fill-in host was filming a cooking segment with MasterChef's Courtney Roulston when he ruined Monique's outfit.

After being instructed to stab a cherry with a skewer, the chef warned Matt to “be careful of Mon’s shirt” during the process. As soon as he pierced the fruit, some cherry juice flung right onto Monique’s pale blue blouse.

Although the spots were small, the dark colour made them hard to miss.

“Oh god,” he said while looking flustered.

“You actually predicted that was going to happen!” Monique replied to Courtney in disbelief.

“I am so sorry. That means an outfit change. I am like, an elite idiot,” Matt grovelled, before attempting to fix the situation.
