Sunrise star Sam Mac's hilarious swipe at Robert Irwin: 'Take that'
The two media personalities have been in a 'feud' since July last year.
Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac made a hilarious dig at Robert Irwin on Thursday morning while visiting Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World on the Sunshine Coast.
The Channel Seven star has been in a playful ‘feud’ with the 19-year-old ever since he filled in for Sam while he was away on personal leave in July last year, and jokes the Wildlife Warrior is constantly trying to take his position.
During his visit to the Sunshine Coast this week, Sam stopped by Bird World and enjoyed some time with the “enormous” macaws.
It wasn’t long before he managed to attract two large colourful birds on his right arm, with Sam comparing his animal skills to Robert’s.
“I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with things, but Robert Irwin’s trying to steal my job,” he told one of the employees.
“But I feel like this is almost upping Robert Irwin.”

'Take that, Robert'
Sam ended up finishing the segment when a large red macaw landed on his head and the squawking in the cage massively increased in volume - but didn’t forget to take another swipe at Robert.
“Okay, when lots of them fly at you it’s a little confronting, I will say that,” he remarked. “This is actually one of the coolest things I’ve done, I love colourful birds, I’m not scared of birds.
“How special is this? Take that, Robert Irwin! Take that, Robert! I got you covered, buddy!”
