Sam Heughan Fans 'Counting the Days' Until New Series Debuts With Steamy Magazine Cover

All eyes are on Sam Heughan ahead of his new series, The Couple Next Door.

The 44-year-old actor recently posed with his The Couple Next Door co-star, Eleanor Tomlinson, for the January 2025 edition of DISH Network's entertainment magazine, OnDish, to promote the series heading to STARZ—and fans can't keep it together.

In the cover image, Heughan's toned arms were on full display in a fitted gray tank as he pulled Tomlinson, 32, in for a kiss. Tomlinson wore a white blouse with her hands wrapped around Heughan's waist while the wind tousled her long red waves.

The picture, posted to Instagram on Monday, Jan. 13, immediately grabbed the attention of the actor's fans, who were quick to make nods to his former on-screen romance with Outlander's Caitriona Balfe.

"Why does it feel like Jamie is cheating on Claire? 😂," one joked of the fictional romance. Several others shared gifs from the beloved STARZ series, including one of Claire (Balfe) showing disapproval and exclaiming, "How dare you."

"I don’t care who your co-star is," a third suggested, "I’m just going to imagine it’s me anyway 😂."

"😂 The comments 🤣😂😂No one is ready for you to be seen in another role with another actress 🤣," someone else joked in part.

"Oh dear," another added, "You are very handsome."

"Can’t wait," one more admitted. "Counting the days.❤️👏."

The Couple Next Door, a psychological drama series based on the novels by New York Times bestselling author Diana Gabaldon, follows two couples—Evie (Tomlinson) and Pete (Alfred Enoch) and Danny (Heughan) and Becka (Jessica De Gouw)—as they navigate "a complex web of desire and betrayal."

Here's the official synopsis: "After Evie and Pete move to the curtain-twitching, claustrophobic world of upmarket suburbia, they quickly develop an intense friendship with their new neighbors: alpha traffic cop Danny and his wife, fitness influencer Becka. Evie finds herself transformed by grief after suffering a late term miscarriage. Meanwhile, Danny struggles to keep a dark secret hidden and Pete investigates the dodgy dealings of a powerful local businessman. Throughout it all, Becka’s every move is being watched by a creepy local voyeur. As the two couples grow ever closer, their bodies and their emotions quickly become tangled up in a complex web of desire and betrayal."

The Couple Next Door will make its U.S. debut this Friday, Jan. 17, at 9 p.m. ET, following the Season 7 finale of Outlander. It will also be available to stream at midnight via the STARZ app. It previously aired on Channel 4 in the U.K., according to the network.
