$250 million reason Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness haven't divorced: 'Messy'
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced their split in September 2023.
Despite announcing their split in September 2023, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness are still not officially divorced. It would seem as though the pair, who were married for 27 years, are struggling to finalise the breakup.
It's been reported that Hugh and Deborra-Lee have yet to actually file for divorce as they didn't have a prenup in place, making things much harder. Insiders believe that the split may get "messy" as they attempt to divide their estimated $250m fortune.

The pair first announced their split to People with a statement that read: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority," the statement continued. "We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' 'messy' divorce
According to Daily Mail, insiders claim that Hugh and Deborra-Lee were working towards filing for divorce before Christmas, but this didn't happen.
"One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup," an insider claims. "When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to get as enormous as it has."
"Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high," they add. "A lot of moving parts need to be worked out and there is a huge amount of money involved."
While the pair want to "make it as easy as possible", it hasn't turned out that way given they are "no longer friends".
"They put their differences aside to co-parent and he cares a lot about is children," they add.
Hugh Jackman's relationship with Sutton Foster
Rumours began swirling last year that Hugh was dating Sutton Foster, his co-star in the Broadway show, The Music Man, and his friend of 20 years. The Younger actress also announced she'd split with her husband last year.
Last week, photos of the pair holding hands were released and this week, a video of them in a steamy public display of affection went viral.
The chemistry between Hugh and Sutton has always been strong, with the actors gushing about each other in interviews and Sutton sharing plenty of snaps of her and the Aussie star on her Instagram over the years of being friends and colleagues.

Sutton told Vogue in 2022 what it was like to work with Hugh, saying, "He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest-working man, incredibly kind, and generous — and all of that is true. He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him."
She added, "He’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise, because you usually go into these things thinking, 'Well, I hope we get along.' But we just spent Memorial Day with our families. It’s really fun to meet new friends after 40."
