Robert Irwin set to bring 'entire Irwin clan' to film I'm A Celebrity

The Wildlife Warrior will be making his reality TV hosting debut later this year.

Robert Irwin has revealed he will be bringing his entire family with him to South Africa when he films I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! later this year, including his girlfriend Rorie Buckey.

The 20-year-old Wildlife Warrior is set to host the upcoming tenth season of the Channel 10 reality show alongside Julia Morris, replacing longtime host Chris Brown who recently moved to rival network Channel Seven.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about the upcoming gig, Robert teased that the “prep is in full force” and he’s “really excited” about the opportunity.

“I’ve got everyone, including my little niece Grace, coming over, so the whole family are there,” he told the publication, adding that it’s going to be “fun”.

“Literally the entire Irwin family are coming over. Rorie’s coming over. Everyone.”

Robert made a cameo appearance on the reality show in 2016 alongside his mother Terri and sister Bindi where they spent a few hours in the camp as part of a challenge.

He recently told Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie that he loved the experience of being on set and knew from that moment it was something he wanted to be a part of in the future.

“I remember when I was probably like 10 years old when I went over and saw it, watching Julia up there and Chris I thought, one day I want to host that. And now I'm doing it, it’s kind of weird,” he recalled.

Robert's I'm A Celebrity salary revealed

It was first announced in October that Robert would be taking over from Chris Brown when I’m A Celebrity returns in 2024.

In a statement from 10, Robert said: “It’s a huge honour to be the new co-host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. I can’t wait to plunge back into the incredible African jungle and introduce our celebrities to the magnificent wildlife that call the jungle home.

“Most of all, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside the incredibly kind and talented Julia Morris. Crikey! This is going to be a wild ride!”

Daily Mail reports that Robert will earn “over $430,000” for his work on the reality show, which films for six weeks in South Africa.

A network insider told the publication that they believe Robert will be “worth every cent” as he has an international fan base.

“His pairing with the witty and ever-entertaining Julia has all the makings of a dynamic duo, promising viewers an unforgettable experience,” they said.

Meanwhile, Julia is reportedly earning around $700,000 for the reality show, which she has hosted since season one in 2015.
