Robert Irwin's girlfriend announces surprising career move amid engagement rumours
Rorie Buckey has fully immersed herself into the Irwin clan.
Five months after going public with their relationship, Robert Irwin’s girlfriend Rorie Buckey has announced that she’s started working for his family business at Australia Zoo.
The nineteen-year-old, who is reportedly studying a bachelor of science in physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth, took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a photo of herself wearing an Australia Zoo uniform.
“I am honoured to be part of groundbreaking research on crocodiles in remote North Queensland,” she wrote.
“Working with the University of Queensland and Australia Zoo is profoundly rewarding and I am so grateful to be alongside such inspiring individuals. This data is helping to conserve a keystone species and the habitat that supports them!”
Alongside the announcement, Rorie updated her Instagram bio to say that she is now officially a ‘Wildlife Warrior’.

Rorie’s followers flooded her post with congratulatory comments about her new career move, with several people predicting that a proposal from Robert is imminent.
“Engagement incoming in T-minus 3…2…1…” one person wrote, followed by another who added, “A true Irwin already!”.
“I am so proud of you! I have watched Robert since he was a little boy and I bet he would be so incredibly proud of you,” a third replied.
“Omg the uniform looks so good on her,” someone else remarked, followed by a different user who called Rorie a “perfect fit for the Irwin fam”.
Engagement rumours
It was reported last month that Robert is planning on popping the question to Rorie, whom he has now been dating for around a year.
According to New Idea, Robert is so serious about his relationship with Rorie that he might propose when she visits him in Africa while he's hosting I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
“Everyone is convinced he is aiming to pop the question when they're in Africa,” an insider told the publication. “Robert is crazy about her and is planning something unforgettable when he formally proposes. They both know it is part of their plans so he's been dreaming up special ways to make it a surprise.”

Robert and Rorie went public with their relationship in July when they attended the Sydney premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
They’ve since declared their love for one another on social media, and Rorie has immersed herself into the Irwin clan by attending various birthday celebrations and Gala events with them.
