'This is going to be a wild ride!'

Following weeks of speculation, Channel 10 has finally announced that Robert Irwin will be joining Julia Morris as co-host of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2024.

The network confirmed on Tuesday morning that the 19-year-old Wildlife Warrior will be replacing Dr Chris Brown for the reality show’s milestone 10th season after he recently joined rival network Channel Seven.

“Audiences will be peaking at how much fun we have in store,” she said. “You might think Robert and I are an unlikely duo, but it turns out we’re a magical combination! Season 10, here we come!”

'New adventure'

Julia told Yahoo Lifestyle in June that while she was still “very sad” about the fact that Chris Brown won’t be returning to the show, she was looking forward to working alongside a brand new host.

“I’m excited for the new adventure of what is in store, I don’t know who that’s going to be yet,” she said.

“We start chemistry testing pretty soon with a number of different people - not even a number of different people, I think there’s kind of a party of six. And from there we’ll just work out where that best chemistry is and start a new adventure.”

Julia added that she has a “total dream pick” of who she wants to become her new co-host, but wouldn’t reveal their name in case it didn’t come to fruition.

“But whoever that person is is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work,” she admitted.
