Robert Irwin's fans spot telling detail in gushing tribute to girlfriend Rorie Buckey

Robert Irwin's fans have been whipped into a frenzy over his relationship status.

Just one day after Rorie Buckey posted a sweet tribute to her boyfriend, Robert Irwin, in a candid Instagram post, fans are speculating over the details of the Wildlife Warrior’s response.

Robert, who is set to host I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! alongside Julia Morris this year, took to his social media account to post a series of snaps of himself and 19-year-old Rorie looking love up throughout the year.

“R + R. Thanks for making my 2023 so bright,” he captioned the photo.

However, the next line really caused a flurry of excitement amongst fans in the comments section, with Robert continuing: “To many years ahead ❤️”

Rorie, who announced in December that she has started working at Australia Zoo, replied: “I love you with all my heart ❤️☀️”

Fans began to wonder if the rumours that the pair might be engaged are indeed true, with one person writing: “Can I get an invite when y’all get married?”

“I’m so happy for you” another person wrote.

“Congratulations Robert ! You a truly such a Beautiful Person,” a fan wrote.

Rorie took to her own social account two days ago to gush over Robert, saying she is so ‘grateful’ to have met the conservationist.

"Grateful for all the wonderful memories created this year, the people I’ve met, for my beautiful family and friends," Rorie wrote alongside several images, many of which involved Robert. "My heart is so full of love and gratitude. Bring on 2024!"

It comes after Rorie’s shock career move caused people to speculate whether the pair had already got engaged before Christmas.

Rorie, who is reportedly studying a bachelor of science in physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth, took to Instagram just before the holidays to share a photo of herself wearing an Australia Zoo uniform.

“I am honoured to be part of groundbreaking research on crocodiles in remote North Queensland,” she wrote.

“Working with the University of Queensland and Australia Zoo is profoundly rewarding and I am so grateful to be alongside such inspiring individuals. This data is helping to conserve a keystone species and the habitat that supports them!”

What made even more heads turn was the fact that Rorie updated her Instagram bio to reveal that she is now officially a ‘Wildlife Warrior’.

“Engagement incoming in T-minus 3…2…1…” one person wrote, followed by another who added, “A true Irwin already!”.

Another person wrote that Rorie is the “perfect fit for the Irwin fam”.
