Robert Irwin reportedly hiding 'secret girlfriend': 'Smitten'

Robert Irwin is reportedly hiding a 'secret girlfriend' from his fans and is waiting for his mum Terri Irwin's 'tick of approval' before going public with the news. It comes almost a year after he split with Heath Ledger's niece Rorie Buckey. The host of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here is reportedly "smitten" with his new girlfriend.

An insider tells Woman's Day that Sunshine Coast locals have noticed Robert referencing a "girlfriend". They add, "He seems smitten and not as secretive about this relationship as he picked up a gift for her prior to Christmas."

"The whispers at the Australia Zoo is that Robert has been seeing a new love interest since around November," the source says. "I’d say Robert will be planning on ‘hard launching’ this relationship in the next few weeks prior to I’m A Celebrity launching on the 19th of January."

They add, "Robert knows that if this relationship is to work that it is better to have both Terri and Bindi on board before taking the relationship public."

The publication adds that Robert has even invited this mystery woman to visit him in South Africa while filming I'm A Celebrity, adding that it will be then that "we can expect to see her appearing on his social media".

The insider adds that Channel Ten will pick up the cheque for his visitor, as they will do "whatever" makes him happy.

Robert Irwin's breakup with Rorie Buckey

After around a year of dating, Robert and former girlfriend Rorie Buckey announced in February last year that they were no longer together.

The pair shared a joint statement, which read: "We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all of the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future.

Robert and Rorie were first spotted enjoying a beach-side date in November 2022, before going public in July 2023 at the Sydney premiere of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, and made their romance ‘Instagram official’ one month later.
