The second season of FBoy Island Australia came to an end this week with what fans have described as the most dramatic finale in Australian reality TV history. Each of the three leading ladies had to choose one of their final two men to enter into a relationship with, completely unaware of their ‘status’ in the game and whether their feelings were genuine.

If they selected a ‘Nice Guy’ then they would split the $50,000 cash, but if they chose an ‘FBoy’ then he could steal the prize money for himself and leave her brokenhearted. The final episode of the BINGE reality series was filled with plenty of twists and turns, including a last-minute walkout from Chad Homann, a plea from last week’s eliminee Sean Henry to rejoin the competition, and a secret plan from ‘Gay FBoy’ Nathan Giastis to steal the cash.

Thankfully, all three women chose Nice Guys in the end with Nicole Mitrov picking Jack Johnston, Krystal Thomas picking Paddy Colliar, and Ally Woodfall picking Joe Blanch - who viewers were convinced was an ‘FBoy’.

“It’s actually so much worse that Joe ended up as a ‘Nice Guy’ as he’s a walking red flag,” one person commented, while another added, “Just proves that a ‘Nice Guy’ doesn’t equate to ‘Good Man’”.

“You can’t follow Andrew Tate and be a ‘Nice Guy’. I think that’s sending a very problematic message to any young women (or men) watching the show,” a third said.

While each leading lady walked away from the reality show with a partner, Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that only two couples are still together. Nicole and Jack and Ally and Joe are both still going strong months after filming wrapped, however, Krystal and Paddy are no longer in a relationship.

“Unfortunately, Paddy and I are not together anymore,” she tells us. “He completely blindsided me during the show. The ‘Nice Guy’ act he put on for me and viewers is not what was true after cameras stopped rolling. I think if anyone were to ask if ‘FBoys’ can be reformed, I’d say definitely not and Paddy is the clear example of that.

“We gave it a shot, and I'm a firm believer that both parties have to give 100 per cent otherwise it's never gonna work. I know that I held up my part of the deal, and I think maybe he didn't as much. I've not been single for this long to kind of drop my standards or know what I'm deserving of.”

Krystal, who also previously appeared on The Bachelor franchise in 2023, went on to say that she and Paddy were only together for “a few weeks” after filming ended and their relationship “wrapped up fairly quickly”.

“It was kind of on and off. It was just a very difficult time and then eventually I was just like, nah, I don't have the energy to do this. I think it was just taxing on both of us,” she details.

“Funnily enough he actually moved to the Gold Coast. We caught up once to talk in real life because we hadn't seen each other, just to speak through everything and debrief a couple of things, It got a little bit heated in a few moments, but I don't have bad blood against him. I wish him all the best.”

Just seconds before making her decision in the final episode, Krystal admitted that she still hadn’t decided whether she’d choose Paddy or her eventual runner-up Doug Roocke. Doug had openly admitted to Krystal that he was falling in love with her, and a majority of viewers were convinced she would choose him in the end.

While Krystal tells Yahoo Lifestyle she agrees Doug would have made a great partner in the real world, she says she doesn’t regret her decision at all.

“It's how I was feeling at the time and I chose Paddy for a reason,” she asserts. “I definitely think that, in hindsight, watching the full show, all the episodes, I was like, ‘Ah, Doug would have also been a really good pick’.

“But at the end of the day, I still stand firm in my decision and I don't regret anything I do in my life. Everything plays out the way it's supposed to, and it's just leading me to bigger and better things.”

Krystal adds that she hasn’t spoken with Doug at all since filming wrapped as she “left him to do his own healing”.

“It was really hard and I really felt bad because it’s like breaking up with someone,” she explains. “But I just know that he'll be such an amazing partner for who he ends up with. I just think he's amazing. He just deserves the world that boy.”

When asked if she could ever see herself dating Doug in the future, she jokes that there’s a “slight crack” in the door.

“Never say never, but I’m a big believer in going forwards, not backwards,” she says.
