Yahoo Lifestyle ‘The Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Shares Rare Pic of Her Mom–And They Look So Much Alike
Ree Drummond’s latest Instagram update revealed that she really is the spitting image of her mom, Gerre.
The Pioneer Woman host shared a photo of her mother on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Feb. 12. In the snapshot, Gerre held her great-granddaughter in her arms as the two snuggled in a brown leather chair. She wore a smile that mirrored the one her daughter is often seen wearing while hosting her long-running Food Network show. Drummond, 56, captioned the photo lovingly, writing, “my mom ❤️.”

While Drummond doesn’t share photos of her mother frequently on Instagram, a recent development appeared to have brought several members of the extended family together. In mid-December, Drummond’s oldest daughter, Alex, gave birth to her first child with husband Mauricio Scott. Their infant daughter Sofia has appeared in several of Drummond’s posts on social media and on her blog over the last several weeks.
The TV personality’s fans were treated to a glimpse of Gerre holding Sofia last month when Drummond posted a photo of the two together on Instagram. Her Jan. 27 upload showed Gerre holding Sofia in her arms while visiting Alex’s home, with Alex’s glowing Christmas tree bringing a cheery mood to the late January photo.
Drummond marveled over the generations represented in the image, writing, “My daughter’s grandmother with my daughter’s daughter! ❤️” in her Instagram caption.
The photo led many fans to beg for a new picture, one that included not just Gerre and Sofia, but Drummond and Alex, as well.
“Must get a pic of the four generations of the ladies!!” one fan urged as another agreed that “All four generations need to do as many group photos as possible!”
“Don’t forget to take a pic. of all four generations. Great Grandma, Grandma, Mom and Granddaughter. 💕💖🩷,” an Instagram user reminded Drummond.
“You, your mom, Alex & Baby Sofia should all take a picture together! 4 Generations! I hope you post it!” another Instagram user requested.
