Paris Hilton surprises fans as she welcomes first baby

The former reality star welcomed her baby boy via surrogate.

Paris Hilton surprised her fans on social media when she announced that she had welcomed her first baby via surrogate with her husband Carter Reum. The 41-year-old heiress shared a sweet photo of her holding her baby boy's hand, writing, "You are already loved beyond words."

The former reality star's famous friends shared messages of congratulations with Kim Kardashian writing, "So happy for you guys!"

"A BABY!!!!! Congratulations so happy for you both!!" Chrissy Teigen added.

"Congratulations Paris, sending much love your way!" Jonathan Adler wrote. "You’re going to be the best Mom."

"OMG! Congrats Paris - you deserve this more than anyone," Lottie Moss said.

Another joked that Paris was going to "break the Internet" with her photo.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Paris shared, "It's always been my dream to be a mother and I'm so happy that Carter and I found each other."

She continued, "We are so excited to start our family together and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy."

The star previously told the publication of her plans to have a baby after she and Carter married in late 2021, starting IVF at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We started going and doing it like a few months in because the world was shut down," she said. "We knew we wanted to start a family, and I was like, 'This is perfect timing. Usually, I'm on a plane 250 days out of the year, and let's just get all of the eggs stocked and ready,' and we have tons of them just waiting."

Paris and Carter got engaged in February 2021 after dating for a little over a year, tying the knot in a lavish three-day ceremony.

Following the pair's engagement, Carter spoke of his soon-to-be wife, saying, "She shines with her kindness, work ethic, authenticity and her voice in making the world a better place, and she will do the same as a future mother and wife."

During an episode of The Bellas Podcast with Nikki and Brie Bella, Paris said of Carter, "I love being married. I just feel like I finally found my perfect match and I just feel so safe."

She continued, "I finally have my home and I just can't wait to start a family and have kids."

Paris said she and her husband "have been talking about kids since the beginning" within months of dating.
