Rebel Wilson doubles down on 'hypocritical' post: 'You let us down'
The A-lister has not addressed the backlash after a recent trip to Dubai.
A-lister Rebel Wilson has doubled down after she sparked fury with a "hypocritical" post celebrating the opening of a new ultra-luxury resort in Dubai.
On Monday, the Aussie actress was blasted by fans after she shared a video of her enjoying the lavish event in the United Arab Emirates with her fiancée Ramona Agruma.
The footage showed parts of the opulent resort and the pair dancing along to a live performance from Beyoncé, who was reportedly paid about $34 million.
While it appeared to be your usual star-studded event, fans of Rebel slammed the Pitch Perfect star for promoting the resort in a country where homosexuality is deemed illegal. Sentences for breaking the law come with a maximum penalty of death.
However, Rebel has seemingly ignored the criticism, sharing more snaps from her extravagant weekend on Instagram, captioning the post with two love hearts and tagging the luxurious resort.
She and Ramona were snapped posing in matching outfits, with Rebel opting for a black patterned dress with pussy bow detail while her partner sported a jumpsuit in the same pattern in red.

While some fans commented on how amazing the stars and resort looked, others took the opportunity to again criticise the star for her Dubai getaway.
"Pass! This country is homophobic!! they can keep their luxury. Hypocrisy at its best," one furious fan wrote.
"Going to Dubai shows absolutely no care in the world for the rights of your gay community. But you look like you’re loving it," another slammed the star.
"You let us all down with this, big time." a third added.
Rebel has not responded to the backlash from fans.
The A-lister announced her relationship with girlfriend Ramona in June, delighting fans as she came out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The actress attended the event alongside Australian television presenter Sonia Kruger, Kendall Jenner, Liam Payne, Ellen Pompeo.
