Prime Video Orders German Adventure Reality Show

Mission Unknown: Atlantic is the latest originals on Prime Video in Germany. The adventure reality format will see social media star Jens ‘Knossi’ Knossalla, who invites famous friends on an extreme journey across the Atlantic. The first two eps will launch on Prime Video Germany on Friday, February 28, and will two weeks late be made available on Knossi’s YouTube channel. Banijay Productions Germany is making the show. This isn’t the first time an Amazon streamer has worked with a YouTube star on an unusual release structure, with Mission Unknown coming after 7 Vs Wild, whose third season played on the now-defunct Amazon Freevee and the social media platform at the same time. Mission Unknown will feature the likes of Joey Kelly, Sophia Thiel, Marc Eggers, Affe auf Bike, Willi Whey and Jodie Calussi. They will be split into teams and deal with everything from torn sails to broken technology, a lack of sleep, seasickness and stormy weather as they race to finish first. “Mission Unknown: Atlantic is a unique concept which bridges the gap between creators and traditional creatives,” said Arno Schneppenheim, Managing Director at Banijay Productions Germany. “By leveraging the popularity of the on-screen talent and our extensive, premium production expertise, we have a formidable format to bring to market.” Banijay made the show in collaboration with DLS Consulting.
