Ben Affleck’s Quiet Career Update Will Have Everyone Saying ‘Cheers!’

Amid his separation and plans for divorce, Ben Affleck has been a busy man.

On Tuesday, just days ahead of Super Bowl LIX, a new ad for Stella Artois dropped, starring David Beckham and Matt Damon. So, what does this have to do with Affleck's career? Well, it was produced by the studio he and Damon co-founded back in 2022, Artists Equity, and according to reports, the ad spot was directed by Affleck.

In the clip titled "David and Dave," the 49-year-old pro athlete is informed that he has a twin brother he never knew about. Beckham then introduces the world to his "long-lost brother," Dave Beckham, played by Damon and referred to by Beckham as "the other Dave."

The humourous ad is part of the beer brand's year-in-the-making "For Moments Worth More" campaign, according to an official release, suggesting that despite the difficult events happening in his personal life, Affleck, 52, made sure to prioritize his business–even approving a joke about himself in the final cut.

While bonding over their similarities and getting to know one another, Damon turned to Beckham, asking, "So how famous are you?"

"Like Matt Damon famous?" he continued, "Maybe Ben Affleck famous?"

The minute-long ad will make its official small-screen debut during this year's Super Bowl in New Orleans, between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 9.

And more than just the brand is excited about it, as Damon–who has partnered with the Anheuser-Busch-owned company in the past–said in a statement that he gets "more excited" for each project every year.

"I can’t wait to keep telling the story of ‘David and Dave’ all year and shedding light on those moments in life worth more, where meaningful connection means more than anything," he added. "The Beckham brothers are here to stay, and Stella Artois will be there with us at every moment."

Separately, Affleck will also appear in another game day ad for Dunkin', just as the "DunKing" did last year. This time, he's joined by Jeremy Strong and Casey Affleck.
