Netflix has finally released a full trailer for their highly-anticipated new Aussie series, Apple Cider Vinegar. The show, which is based on the book The Woman Who Fooled the World by Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, about cancer scam artist Belle Gibson, stars Kaitlyn Dever as Belle, as well as Alycia Debnam-Carey and Aisha Dee.

And one thing in particular has left some viewers confused – Kaitlyn Dever's perfect Australian accent. As we know, the Australian accent is incredibly hard for people who aren't from Down Under to master, so hearing Kaitlyn do such a good job has led some to question if she's actually from here.

Spoiler alert: she's not, but you would definitely be forgiven for thinking she is!

Netflix describes the show as: "Set at the birth of Instagram, Apple Cider Vinegar, follows two young women who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, influencing their global online communities along the way. All of which would be incredibly inspiring if it were all true.

"This is a true-ish story based on a lie, about the rise and fall of a wellness empire; the culture that built it up and the people who tore it down."

Many viewers have taken to social media to share their confusion, with one person writing on Reddit, "As I watched this, I thought 'S**t, is she actually Australian?!' and had to bring up her Wikipedia page. It was very convincing."

"Kaitlyn Dever's Australian accent is quite decent here," another agreed.

"Her accent work here is very good," a third said. "Had me checking Wiki if she was Australian. And I am Australian."

"I liked her a lot in Dopesick, but... were all of the Australian actresses on vacation or in a Barbie sequel?" one person joked.

"How is she so good?" one fan asked.

"Kaitlyn Dever – what an amazing Australian accent," another added. "Looking forward to this."

Some were less complimentary, with one Redditor writing, "Yikes at that Australian accent."

Others were simply excited to see Kaitlyn in the role, with one person saying, "Hard to tell from the trailer if it's any good, but after Unbelievable and Dopesick I give every show with Kaitlyn Dever a chance."

"Don't know if you're a Last of Us fan, but she's going to be perfect in the role she's been cast for in S2," a third said.

It comes after a close friend of Belle's tells Yahoo Lifestyle, "No one from Netflix had contacted Belle," adding, "Apple Cider Vinegar is being made with zero contact with Belle."

The friend adds that Belle "has told me she will not be watching the series prior to it being screened".

While Belle has told many people she won't watch the show, another source has shared, "Belle is very keen to see what they have done with the story."

Netflix has been very careful with the making of the show, ensuring they call it a "true-ish story based on a lie".

Everyone knows the story is about the scammer, and many believe Belle will be hoping Netflix crosses a line so she can make some profit out of the highly anticipated limited series.

The insider adds that there is still an enormous debt in play after Belle was fined $410,000 for falsely proclaiming she had found a cure for her cancer-related illness.

"However, Netflix have crossed their T's and dotted their I's and don't believe Gibson will have a case against them," they say.

There is a huge expectation that Apple Cider Vinegar will reach the acclaim of Baby Reindeer and Inventing Anna.

Apple Cider Vinegar premieres February 6, only on Netflix.
