Mountain Dew Fans Are Saying the Same Thing About New Soda Flavor
Mountain Dew is reportedly launching a new soda flavor that fans are excited to try, but they aren’t eager about everything when it comes to the upcoming release.
Soda enthusiasts are looking forward to the new exclusive flavor coming to Walmart later this year from Mountain Dew, Dragonfruit, but feel like the name leaves something to be desired.

Food blogger Tyler Bowers, who goes by the username teamsupernovafb on Instagram, shared an image of a bottle and can of the upcoming flavor on Jan. 25 along with a caption that states “Mountain Dew is dropping a NEW exclusive flavor at Walmart to replace Frostbite (leaving in May) in JUNE - Enter Mountain Dew DRAGONFRUIT! (Not the most original name, but I'm not even mad.)”
The influencer continued, noting that the soda “Will be in bottles and cans, but no Zero Sugar as of now. It's not marked as LTO,” or limited-time only.

Fans jumped into the comments to share their opinions, writing that they “need” to try the new flavor. “OMG anything dragonfruit can get it.!!! Wow I bet this will be one of the best DEW flavors.!!👏🛒💯,” said a commenter.
“Sounds good, boring name tho😵,” wrote one fan, agreeing with Bowers, and more were on the same page. “Whoever in charge of naming their flavors was replaced lmao,” joked one fan, and a third chimed in that it’s a “Pretty boring name and logo but I’ll be chugging these.”
Others were saddened by the news but willing to give the upcoming flavor a chance, explaining that they “bet this will be great! Frostbite was pretty good, sad it’s gone but definitely a great replacement.”
Several fans also used the comments to complain about the new flavor replacing their current favorite. “Dragonfruit killed my Frost Bite,” wrote one fan, prompting another to respond and write, “same. Frostbite was my number one and I have had every mountain dew release since 06. And dragon fruit doesn't actually taste like much.”
