Throughout this year’s season of My Kitchen Rules, viewers demanded that fan favourites Simone Prest and Viviana Barile open a restaurant together so they could try their mouth-watering dishes for themselves. Now, the public has finally been given this opportunity.

Although the winning team hasn’t launched a new eatery together, Simone announced on Wednesday evening that his pre-existing Italian restaurant and pizzeria Doughcraft in Brisbane has added some of their MKR dishes to the menu. Diners are invited to take part in the “culinary celebration” and commemorate Simone and Viviana’s journey to success.

“Starting today, you can indulge in the My Kitchen Rules special menu right here in Brisbane!” the restaurant’s Instagram account shared. “Featuring the cappellacci fagioli e cozze, a dish that wowed the judges with its delicate hand-folded pasta filled with creamy white bean puree, mussels, and buttery beurre blanc.

“And that’s not all—Simone’s lobster taco guanciale and the heavenly Paris-Brest dessert are also here to steal the show.”

MKR viewers from all over Australia quickly took to the comments to say they were excited to travel to Brisbane and dine at Simone’s restaurant, which opened in February this year.

“I’m definitely coming in to try that,” one person wrote, while another added, “Sounds so yum, would like to come and taste”.

“I neeeeeeeeeed to get to Brisbane fast!” a third replied, followed by someone else who said, “Omg I want it so bad”.

“Booked a table for next Tuesday! Travelling 2000kms to come try the tiramisu,” a different user replied, with another commenting, “We’re booked and I can't wait to try this”.

Others also begged Simone to “arrange something for Sydney and Melbourne” and “open another restaurant in SA”.

The announcement comes shortly after Simone told Yahoo Lifestyle that while he and Viviana don’t have any plans to open a restaurant together, they are hoping to launch their own cooking show in the future.

“That would be something we would consider because when we cook, if there is no pressure behind us, we can be very funny and we can play around and we can create very good dishes,” he detailed. “So that would be something we would really consider, and hopefully we will be given the chance to do it.”

Viviana added that her ideal show with Simone would be one where they get to travel around the world together.

“I would love to do something that involves travelling, like Simone and I going around, trying different foods and learning from other cultures,” she said. “We show our culture to them, and they show us theirs. I would love something like that.”

“We will find the right format for us and hopefully someone will make it happen,” Simone remarked.
