MKR has dished up plenty of jaw-dropping moments this season. From the highs of Simone and Viviana's near-perfect score for their Instant Restaurant effort to the lows of the dinnertime drama between contestants Janey and Maddie and the now-eliminated couple Hannah and Lawrence.

With the Ultimate Instant Restaurant rounds now underway, the pressure is well and truly on as the teams must cook two entrées, two mains and two desserts for guests to choose what they would like to eat. First on the proverbial chopping block were brothers from Victoria Liam and Rob, fresh off their turn as guest judges following their victory at Kitchen HQ.

Sadly, their winning streak hit a rough patch as they scored a disappointing 57 out of 100 for their efforts.

While Janey ruffled feathers by interrupting the service to ask the boys why they had given guests two tacos each and "compromised on the quality of the tacos" and insisting the taco shells were “like trying to eat cardboard," the real shock of the night came after all the dishes had been served.

At the end of the night, Manu and Colin revealed that they would use open scoring, which means contestants would reveal their scores at the table in front of their competitors for the first time.

The revelation about the open scoring did not sit well with many viewers, who felt that it was unfair to the boys because the new rule was not explained before the teams decided on how they would rate the meals.

"Seems really unfair for the boys.. they really copped low scores....and next time the teams will score nice as they will know they have to reveal the score," one viewer wrote online.

"Not fair on the boys everyone will be scoring higher now it’s all out in the open", said another.

"The twist should have been announced before the opening round, making it an even playing field for everyone," a third weighed in. "In future rounds, people will openly go against the grain of comments at the table just to justify a lower score at the end when they are sitting lower on the ladder. They already did that but there was no consequence doing it in secret."

"The revealing of scores should have been announced before the teams scored, think it was unfair on the brothers, now the other teams will have to score honestly," yet another viewer added.

"Unfair on the brothers, the other teams have an advantage knowing their scores will be revealed," was another comment.

Mother and son team Caz and Fergus will host their Ultimate Instant Restaurant next - so we'll have to see how the open scoring pans out now it's out in the actual open!
