My Kitchen Rules 2024: Everything we know about season 14
MKR 2024 starts on September 9 with Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge returning as judges. Here's what else you need to know.
My Kitchen Rules is back for its 14th season this year, with fan favourites Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge returning as judges. Manu and Colin will travel around the country to meet some very passionate home cooks in their own houses and eventually crown a winner!
Who are the My Kitchen Rules judges?
Manu Feildel has worked on the show since it began in Australia in 2010, while Colin Fassnidge has been a familiar face since the fourth season. The Irish judge stepped in as a series judge in 2021.
Nigella Lawson has also been a popular face on the show, with the British home cook appearing on the show in 2022 and 2023. However, it's unknown at this stage if she will also return to the show this year.
Meet the 2024 MKR contestants
Hannah and Lawrence — WA
Lawrence is ready to take on MKR and win for one very significant reason — if they win the prize, he said it's "non-negotiable" that he'll propose. Hannah introduced Lawrence to the joy of cooking and now it's a shared passion between the two, with Hannah saying her cooking style runs on instinct while Lawrence's is about measuring to perfection.
Mike and Pete – WA
These long-time friends are ready to pay homage to their Italian heritage and passion for home-style cooking, with Pete promising to bring some flair to the men while Mike's unfiltered banter will no doubt add some heat to the kitchen and the dining table.
Mike is so sure of their skills, he's already said the two are going to have "one of the best instant restaurants in all of MKR history". Watch this space!
Rob and Liam – VIC
Rob and Liam are two bros with fantastic moes who are close in age and close in relationship. While their 18-month age gap makes them besties, it also makes them each other's fiercest competitors with Rob saying they might be the most "competitive brothers in Australia".
The boys describe their cooking style as "cooking with fire" and are big on grilling, with Rob finessing the BBQ and Liam all over the presentation and technique.
Danny and Sonia – QLD
Brother and sister duo Danny and Sonia grew up in Far North Queensland, with both being raised to hunt, fish and cook. Danny is now a butcher by trade, and is here to show Australia his cooking skills and to "just have a good time".
"We didn’t have a lot growing up, but we did have love and we did have food," Sonia said, with the confident sibling duo describing their dynamic as "fast and furious with passion", saying they may have some fiery debates but at the end of the day, they will always have each other's backs.
Simone and Viviana - QLD
Simone and Viviana are best friends from Italy who promise to bring passion, fashion and flair to the kitchen! While they live in Brisbane, these two are originally from Italy and want to serve up "style, class and modern Italian with a twist".
Simone describes himself as "an adventurous cook, taking old classics and innovating them in new ways," and viewers will no doubt be drawn to both him and Viviana – though, let it be known that their stance on pineapple on pizza is very strong and it's a big no!

When does MKR 2024 start?
The 2024 season of My Kitchen Rules will premiere at 7:30pm on September 9th on Channel Seven.
What prize do the winners of MKR take home?
While the prize money has previously been as high as $250,000, it has sadly been reduced to $100,000 in recent years.
The Daily Telegraph previously reported that contestants on shows such as MKR are only paid $100 per day to cover their expenses. However, an unnamed insider revealed that contestants were paid $1000 a week, according to Now To Love.

The source said that the $1000 didn't go very far as the contestants are encouraged to practise their cooking skills throughout the week.
"It’s hard. We were spending up to $600 a week on food because you’re encouraged to cook as much as possible," they said.
