Mikey Madison Flaunts One Shoulder in Louis Vuitton Asymmetric Dress for National Board of Review Awards

Mikey Madison went asymmetrical in Louis Vuitton on Tuesday in New York on the red carpet for the National Board of Review Awards.

The award season darling, who will be recognized with the Breakthrough Performance Award for her turn in “Anora,” wore an oversize custom dress done in black silk satin and chiffon.

Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s long-sleeve silhouette incorporated an angular cut that began around the neckline to below the left shoulder, where buttons ran down the draped bodice to the waistline. The floor-length skirt featured a short train that she carried while posing for photos.

Madison’s makeup included a pink lip and wing-tipped eyeliner, and her tousled hair was styled down her shoulder on the right side of the dress — better to show off the shoulder.

Speaking to WWD on the red carpet, Madison said the praise that her performance has earned is “very surreal.”

“It’s an honor. I never thought that this would be something that would happen for me, and so it’s beautiful. I loved working with (director) Sean Baker and playing a character like this and representing the sex work community, even just through one person’s eyes was a beautiful experience for me,” Madison said.

The National Board of Review, a non-profit organization dedicated to cinema, annually honors films in various categories, including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and more. It is often considered as one of the bellwethers for Oscar favorites.
