Michelle Yeoh Is Almost Unrecognizable With a Glamorous Blonde Bob

It's so Glinda-coded!

Is that Michelle Yeoh or Glinda the Good herself?

At last night's Los Angeles premiere of Wicked, the Everything Everywhere All At Once actor rocked a dramatic blonde hair transformation. Yeoh swapped her natural dark hair for a voluminous wavy cropped style, dyed the perfect shade of Glinda-blonde with slightly darker roots. She wore her bouncy bob in glamorous waves and parted on the side, creating a swooping old Hollywood look.

It seems that even Yeoh's co-stars were surprised by her transformation. In a video captured on the red carpet, Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda in the film, can be seen squealing, "Michelle!" as she sees Yeoh's new look. Meanwhile Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, gasps in disbelief. Then Grande shrieks, "You're blonde!"

Yeoh wore a black sparkly gown from Balenciaga's FW24 collection. With its torn detailing, it was just as witchy as it was glamorous. She also wore a diamond choker necklace and a matching ring.

In the film, Yeoh plays Madame Morrible, the Dean of Sorcery Studies at Shiz University where Elphaba and Glinda meet before they become better known as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet last night, Yeoh opened up about singing for the first time on screen. "I was terrified, not just nervous!" she said, explaining that she learned to "enjoy the process" from her vocal coach.

And, as Yeoh told Harper's Bazaar earlier this year, she loved working on the project with Grande and Erivo. "Spending time with Ariana and Cynthia, you feel like you’ve gone where angels sing, because they have the most amazing voices and they are simply a dream to work with," she said.
