Yahoo Lifestyle Michael Strahan Tears up Over Sara Haines's Comments About Isabella
Sara Haines and Michael Strahan reunited on The View on January 31, and it came with quite an emotional moment held between two former co-stars.
The Good Morning America host appeared on the ABC daytime series to promote the ABC special Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan's Fight to Beat Cancer (which aired on February 5 at 10 p.m. ET). The documentary followed Michael's daughter Isabella as she underwent treatment for medulloblastoma, from enduring chemotherapy through completing her final round in June 2024. Due to Sara and Michael previously working together on GMA, Sara couldn't help but get choked up about how emotional it was for her to see Isabella go through it in real-time.
"The pain of a parent watching your child feel uncomfortable — and so few of us deal with this type of pain," she stated in a clip posted on Instagram. "How was that for you?"
"You're gonna make me cry!" Michael responded with tears in his eyes. "I know you know the girls. We did the show together, you've come spend time with us. It's just — you're hopeless and you're helpless. You're just a father who knows nothing more than to fix what you can for your kids. I can't fix this. All I can do is sit back and pray that we have the right doctors and that it's something that can be treated so that she can get back to being as normal as possible and get back to her life."
That's not all Sara and Michael shared about Isabella's health journey. Sara also commended Isabella for being so brave throughout her treatment — and how much she admires her for staying strong in a way most people can't imagine.
"[Isabella] is a tigress," Sara added. "I mean, the strength that's come out of Isabella in watching her face this... the things you learn about her resilience and her strength and her fortitude are unbelievable. This is literally must-see for everyone."
When fans saw the emotional clip online, they immediately agreed with Sara's comments.
"Sara always approaches these issues with great compassion and empathy. I really appreciate her. ❤️," one person wrote. "Continued prayers for the entire family! 🙏," another penned. "A beautiful young woman who is surrounded by love, strength and courage. Isabella is victorious," a different viewer added.
Fans may remember this isn't the first time Sara has opened up about watching Michael and Isabella go through this health crisis. When Michael first announced Isabella's diagnosis in January 2024, Sara shared how Isabella was "so fierce" amid one of the toughest times in her life.
We so love to see the bond Sara and Michael continue to have — and this makes us need tissues to wipe our own tears.
