Yahoo Lifestyle Meet the Couples Who Are Repping True Love on the Streets of Brooklyn
Our Cosmo Couples series is stronger than ever. Our goal? To spot real-life couples in some of the coolest metropolitan cities, learn about who they are, uncover the magic that makes them click, and snap some really cute photos that prove love is real. So far, we’ve tackled NYC, London, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Atlanta.
And for our sixth installment—the first under our new editor-in-chief Willa Bennett—we revisited where it all started: New York! (Home of Cosmopolitan’s headquarters, thank you very much.) For our spring 2025 Love Issue, we homed in on Brooklyn specifically and scouted the loveliest lovebirds the borough had to offer.
We asked them about how they met, how long they’ve been together, and exactly what makes their relationships work. Our takeaway after chatting with these clearly obsessed with each other pairings? That we’ve got further proof that true love does, in fact, exist.
Arthur + Taylor

Taylor: I’m a Simmer. I play The Sims.
Arthur: We love playing our games together but separate.
Taylor: His are at the front of the house and I’m in the back.
Arthur: We’ll just shout, “LOVE YOU!”
Taylor: And then he’ll bring me snacks.
Sofia + Angel

Years together: 1
Angel: We met at a casting for Tom Ford.
Sofia: She booked it, because she’s that girl.
Angel: We exchanged Instagram handles, and I DMed her as I was walking to go get sushi after. By the time I was done eating, we had plans for our first date.
Sofia: I knew there was a vibe.
Kimball + Sarah

Years together: 2.5
Kimball: The second we met, it was as though I’d known her for 20 years.
Sarah: That first night, we kissed at a stoplight.
Kimball: Oh yes. I said, “Can I kiss you?”
Sarah: Which I thought was very gentlemanly. Then he dropped something and was fumbling around and I was like, “Oh my god, I love you. You’re crazy.” And he was like, “I love you, too.”
Arthur + Izaak + Anish

Izaak: The first time we all went to dinner with Arthur’s parents, they saw Anish and me acting like a couple.
Arthur: They were like, “They seem very comfortable with each other—they must be childhood friends.”
Izaak: Then I met Anish’s mom shortly before we took a trip to Costa Rica.
Anish: And it was like, “Yeah, we, a couple, are going on vacation with this boy.” She’s not dumb. She put the pieces together.
Arthur: It took both of our parents a minute to get over that initial “Oh my god, what the fuck are you doing?”
Izaak: I finally felt accepted when I officiated Anish and Arthur’s wedding. Both of their parents came up to me after to tell me that what I said was beautiful. They understood this isn’t a weird sex thing. I’m part of this.
Mikey + Diego

Mikey: He’s not as big of a shopper as I am. But I like shopping for him.
Diego: He pretends to be my personal shopper—whenever I show up, it’s a whole event.
Mikey: It’s an Olympic sport for me at this point.
Diego: He’s like, “Try this! Look at this!” Then back to, “Try this, this, this, and this!” By the end, I’m just the assistant there to carry everything.
Mikey: And then I borrow the clothes I picked out for him.
Michael + Fiona

Michael: We have very different tastes.
Fiona: There’s a very small section of the Venn diagram that touches media we both like.
Michael: I like scary or sad movies. Fiona likes rom-coms.
Fiona: I can’t watch horror. I just can’t. I love my reality TV, which he won’t watch.
Michael: But we’ve been watching The Bear and we seem to agree on that. 18 18
