“Maxton Hall”'s Damian Hardung Teases Fans With Comment About His Character's Perfume in Season 2 Sneak Peek

Filming for season 2 of the hit Prime Video series began in June

Maxton Hall fans are getting the first crumbs from season 2 as filming remains underway on the international Prime Video series.

On Monday, Sept. 9, the streamer shared a short clip from the set of season 2 that featured stars Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten, who play protagonists James Beaufort and Ruby Bell, respectively.

The snippet showed Hardung and Herbig-Matten cozied up with each other as star-crossed lovers James and Ruby. The pair exchange one of their signature longing glances before Hardung, 26, reflected on how filming has been going since it began in June.

"It was super crazy to be back on set. I remember exactly, the first day of shooting, we just stood in Marienburg, in this courtyard of this great castle," he recalled as a clip of James and Ruby walking hand-in-hand on the school grounds played. "I had the costume on again, I had my perfume back on and I stood in front of Harriet."

Hardung's comment about his perfume was well received in the comments section, as fans begged to know what scent the actor adorns when he's getting into character as the arrogant millionaire heir.

Herbig-Matten, 21, then said that the on-set dynamic "always feels like going on a school trip" as a sweet moment between her and Lydia (Sonja Weißer) was shown.

"It's like that simple, very much like family, all of us. And that is unbelievably beautiful," the actress said of the cast, as a few clips of her goofing off on set played.

The sneak peek at season 2 concluded with some clips of Hardung channelling his character's competitive streak as he played for the school's lacrosse team — and Herbig-Matten was not far off as she clapped for her beau from the sidelines.

The caption of the TikTok called the clip "a sneak peek at filming season 2."

Season 2 of Maxton Hall — whose first season made history as Prime Video's most successful international original series — will be based on Save You, the second book in Mona Kasten's bestselling German trilogy.

It picks up following James and Ruby's "passionate night together in Oxford," where season 1 ended, as "a stroke of fate in James' family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings [Ruby] back from cloud nine to a harsh reality," per the official synopsis.

Ruby is "devastated" and has "never been so hurt by anyone," and while she desperately "wants her old life back," she "can't forget James — especially since he's doing everything he can to win her back."
