MAFS 'villain' Jack Dunkley finally explains WTF is going on with his facial hair
Jack’s moustache has caused plenty of discussion on social media.
If you’ve been watching this year’s season of Married At First Sight and wondering what on earth is going on with Jack Dunkley’s facial hair, you’re definitely not the only one.
In addition to his controversial behaviour and inappropriate remarks, the 34-year-old groom has caused quite a stir online over the unique way he grooms his face.
Season nine bride and former hairdresser Selina Chhaur went viral on TikTok last month after she pointed out that Jack shaves the top half of his moustache so he only has a thin line of hair above his upper lip.
“So I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but can someone please explain this? What is happening here?” she asked her followers while pointing to a photo of Jack’s mo.
“I don’t know if this is a new trend that’s come on board within the last 12 months that I don’t know about… Can Jack or Jack’s barber or someone please explain?”

Now, Jack has finally responded to the many questions about his facial hair in a video posted by Gold Coast-based brow and lash business Glam Studios on TikTok.
In the clip, Jack explained to his friend and brow artist Jasmine that he began styling his moustache like that because of an ex-partner.
“It used to annoy someone I used to date, and I just kept growing it like that,” he said. “I think I’m ready to grow it out though, for real.
“It might’ve been Australia that’s maybe got me over the line with that.”
Jack called out for 'whale' comment
Jack sparked controversy during Tuesday night’s episode of MAFS when he called a group of participants sitting by the pool “whales”.
The personal trainer didn’t deny that he made the comment, but instead doubled down and insisted it was simply a “joke”.

“I would never directly call anyone a whale,” he said. “These are just cheap shots, like there’s banter happening all over the place… It’s out of context.”
Jack was heavily criticised on social media following the episode, with one viewer commenting: “Not even Harrison [Boon] was this bad.”
