MAFS' shocking final task exposed as insiders say it 'splits couples up instantly'
EXCLUSIVE: The final task before the MAFS final vows is set to cause irreparable damage for some couples.
MAFS will introduce a new 'final task' for the participants this week, and it's something that's never been done before in the history of the show. Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal that the relationship experts are going to test the participants’ loyalty by telling each person individually that they have a 'Plan B' backup match waiting for them, and it’s up to them if they’d like to meet them.
"The premise of the task is about how the grass isn’t always greener on the other side," an insider spills to Yahoo Lifestyle. "But it’s essentially a final hurdle to see how strong the remaining couples are."
The task has disastrous consequences for Carina Mirabile and Paul Antoine, who instantly split up when she discovers he went on a date with his backup match – which she sees as cheating.

Jamie Marinos is said to grapple with the decision to meet up with her backup option given the mixed signals 'husband' Dave Thomas Hand has given her but ultimately decides to – only for him to stand her up.
Awhina Rutene, Adrian Araouzou, Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly are all said to have failed the experiment in the eyes of the experts, whereas Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels both instantly refuse to take part in the challenge.
Beth speaks out about controversial task
Beth Kelly and Teejay Halkias also decided to meet their backup options, before later agreeing that there’s no saving their "marriage" and they won’t continue together in the real world.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle about the controversial task, Beth admits she was “so shocked” when she learned there was a ‘backup option’ wanting to meet her.
“I was definitely not expecting that challenge at all,” she shares. “With me, I chose to go on it because why would I sit in an apartment all day waiting for someone who doesn't want me?
“I knew that he would go on his date, so for me, it was kind of like, why would I not do it?”
MAFS' Jamie and Dave 'at war' behind the scenes as show airs on TV
It comes after reports Jamie and Dave are currently "at war" behind the scenes of the show. After multiple unconfirmed reports that the pair are no longer together, several sources have now told Yahoo Lifestyle that Jamie and Dave are currently "at war" and there’s no chance of reconciliation between them.
One show source says: "Dave has felt disappointed at how Jamie has failed to defend him in all the press interviews she’s been getting lately. He thinks she has been making the backlash he’s had even worse and just stirring fans against him."

Meanwhile, a second source tells us: "Jamie has been embarrassed by how Dave has been hanging out with all the has-been reality stars in Melbourne, posing for the paps and selling video messages. It just makes her think more than ever that he wasn’t on MAFS for the right reasons and she wants to distance herself completely."
In recent weeks, Jamie has been labelled Channel Nine’s "golden girl" and given more media opportunities than any other participant, including a VIP trip to New Zealand to promote the show. Meanwhile, Dave has been spotted at influencer events with Love Island stars while selling custom video messages on Cameo for $79.
A third source says: "Dave and Jamie said they’d always have each other’s backs but lately it feels like they don’t want anything to do with each other and a resentment has set in."
