Are MAFS' Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand still together?

Since the start of this year’s season of Married At First Sight, viewers have been rooting for Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand to make it to the end of the experiment. The couple immediately hit it off at their wedding and viewers quickly labelled them the "cutest couple" on the reality show.

The heavily tattooed Dave is a 6'6" self-confessed "softie" – essentially everything that Jamie asked for and more. He also doesn't seem to be fazed by her larger-than-life personality, with the pair going from strength to strength as they tackle the challenges each week.

Things recently took a turn for the couple when Jamie told Dave she loved him and he confessed at the commitment ceremony that he didn't feel the same way. The pair then clashed during a conversation about intimacy where Dave admitted their lack of sex was because his feelings weren’t as strong as hers.

The self-proclaimed 'big friendly giant' explains to Yahoo Lifestyle that he typically moves "a bit slower" in relationships, however, he wishes he spoke up more about his feelings to Jamie.

“Obviously I didn't reciprocate the love feeling back, but maybe I should have explained where I was exactly at so I could reassure her. I just really missed the boat on that one,” he reflects.

“I think this is a huge lesson I've taken out of this experiment. I need to communicate better with Jamie, that’s something that I’ve definitely learned about myself. No one’s perfect. I learned good things and bad things throughout this experiment and you get to put the mirror up and be accountable for it.”

Are Jamie and Dave still together?

Yahoo Lifestyle revealed last year that the show's bosses are on track to deliver what could be one of the social experiment's happiest endings to date as there was a "record-breaking" number of pairs still together at the Final Vows.

"Everyone thought this season was a lost cause but a surprising amount of couples have really pulled through and made it to the end of the experiment," an insider told us.

It's understood that Jamie and Dave are one of those couples that make it to the end of the filming experience, but it's unclear whether they have stayed together beyond the experiment.

One major clue that hints at their current relationship status is that they were recently spotted together in Melbourne.

A fan shared the photos with So Dramatic! last month and told the publication: “I just saw Jamie and Dave out and together! They’re actually lovely. I think they make it.

“I commented, ‘Oh you’re still together?!’. They said, ‘You’ll have to wait and find out’.”

Jamie reveals the secret pact she made with Dave

Jamie recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that she credits their success during the first few weeks in the experiment to a simple pact they made on their honeymoon

“A lot of people don't realise that your partner is your ride or die, like it's actually you two against the world on MAFS. People easily turn against each other, but if you actually form that alliance and go, ‘Let’s try and make this work and let's have each other's back’, it can work,” she detailed.

“I feel like that's what we established on the honeymoon and it really worked for us. Dave was very much like, ‘I’ve got your back' and I was like, ‘I’ve got yours too. Let’s communicate and let's be respectful. So when things came up, we handled things respectfully, we didn't blame each other, we took accountability, and that's something you don't really see too often on MAFS.”
