MAFS producers already in damage control before 2025 season airs: 'Nightmare'
Exclusive: One couple from this year's season is causing a major headache for MAFS producers after splitting after they finished filming.
The upcoming season of MAFS is ready to hit screens in late January and the final vows and reunion episodes have already been filmed. While producers are over the hump of filming, an insider reveals to Yahoo Lifestyle that they now have 'Mission: Impossible' on their hands trying to keep the show's storylines from leaking.
Every year producers wait with bated breath, hoping their couples will keep out of trouble. An industry insider tells us, "While Channel Nine is so excited for Australia to see the latest series which boasts more twists and turns than any other series, they are well aware they have a 'Mission: Impossible' ahead of them for the next three months."

A source close to production adds, "The biggest problem in shooting something like MAFS in advance is keeping the outcomes offline and encouraging the participants to keep their mouths shut. Which creates a nightmare for Channel Nine every year."
"I dare say this year is going to be the biggest challenge the network has ever faced. As a lot goes down before we get to where these relationships are now."
MAFS producers in crisis meeting as success story couple splits
The insider reveals that the team behind the relationship experiment have already had a crisis meeting last week after hearing that one of the biggest success stories of the season called it quits.
"This couple starts on a rollercoaster and goes back and forth but much like Timothy and Lucinda last year, audiences will fall in love with both personalities in their own way," the insider says.
"This will be a very compelling storyline to play out and we know that Australia will be rooting for this couple and it would be a shame to have that revealed before the episodes air," they add.
While the participants are on board to cover up their decision to separate, Yahoo Lifestyle can exclusively reveal, a budget has been afforded to make viewers believe this couple have stayed together.
"We used to be able to say, 'Stay off social media' and 'Don't talk to the press' but the interest from everyone from their neighbours to their employers has made covering up their relationship status a much bigger strategy," our source reveals. "When you sign up to MAFS the contracts are pretty explicit with participants playing along with their edit.

"What gets asked of these participants is quite unbelievable in terms of lying to family and friends. They have signed up to do that and I am sure this couple will find the next few months to be quite challenging."
"This couple will be attending media events together and they will be acting up to the cameras. So don't believe everything you see when it comes to who looks still together and who doesn't," they add.
