MAFS’ Melissa says she feels ‘mum guilt’ after attending boxing event
Married At First Sight stars Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven have once again defended their decision to attend a Melbourne boxing match last week after recently bringing their newborn twins home from the hospital.
The couple, whose sons Levi and Tate were born 10 weeks premature in October, have since received mass backlash for going to the star-studded event - which resulted in Bryce getting involved in a physical altercation with his former MAFS rival, Sam Carraro.
Melissa told Daily Mail that people were wrong to think that she and Bryce “just lifted the boys out of NICU and went out”, and explained that their babies were actually brought home two weeks earlier.
She also said that online trolls have made her feel “mum guilt” for trying to enjoy some time with her fiancé away from the kids.

Bryce told the publication that he and Melissa felt like it was important for them to spend a night out with friends, which is something “every parent” does.
“I guess one thing that's always been told to us from family and friends is that you've got to also focus on your relationship with each other, and make sure that stays strong and basically that's what we were doing,” he said.
“The boys were in safe and capable hands with Melissa's parents; we wouldn't just leave them with anyone,” he remarked, before adding with a laugh, “We could have taken them to the boxing! But it probably wasn't the right environment for them to be fair”.
Bryce was recently called out on social media for getting into a violent confrontation with his MAFS co-star Sam outside the ring at the Melbourne boxing event on Friday.
Footage shared online of the incident shows the former TV rivals lunging at each other and exchanging punches as Melissa tries to step in between them.
The radio host took to Instagram shortly after the incident to clap back at a number of followers who criticised his parenting skills, replying to one comment with, “Having children has nothing to do with this situation. Are you a perfect parent?”
The saga come as the couple shared a post on social media this week announcing that their twin sons were home from the hospital ahead of Christmas.
“Home under the one roof,” Bryce wrote alongside a few sweet snaps of their family of four in their backyard.
Melissa, who commented “complete” on her fiancé’s gallery, captioned her own post with: “Welcome home my sweet little angels.”
A number of the pair’s famous followers took to the comments to congratulate them on their happy news during the festive season.
“This is everything,” MAFS’ Jason Engler said, with their former co-star Christopher Jensen adding, “Awww this is so beautiful you guys, wishing you all the health and happiness in the world.”
“Beautiful family!” Bachelor In Paradise’s Jamie Doran replied, followed by Big Brother VIP’s Jessika Power with several heart-eye emojis.
