MAFS' Melinda reveals surprising truth about 'feud' with Evelyn: 'Awkward'

The reality stars shared a 'really awkward' encounter at the Logies nominations event this week.

Married At First Sight’s Melinda Willis has responded to rumours that she and her season 10 co-star Evelyn Ellis are no longer friends.

The TV brides, who formed a close bond while filming this year’s season of the reality show, reportedly “refused to pose for photos together” at the Logie Awards nominations event earlier this week, according to Daily Mail.

Melinda and Evelyn both attended the Sydney event with their respective partners, Layton Mills and Duncan James, and were joined by fellow MAFS couple Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton to celebrate MAFS’ two nominations.

However, no photos of the six stars together were captured on the day, with Daily Mail reporting that Melinda and Evelyn “were on opposite sides of the room and purposely avoiding each other”.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday evening, Melinda addressed the ‘feud’ rumours during a Q&A with her followers.

“So there was an article that came out, it was about the breakfast nominations for the Logies and it was saying like, ‘Brides at war! Besties Mel and Ev are no longer friends’,” she detailed.

“That’s not entirely true.”

So, what happened?

Melinda explained that she’s been doing plenty of media interviews recently and feels like “a lot of things have been taken out of context”.

“There’s a lot of media stirring the pot and you just don’t really know who to believe,” she said, adding that she was “really upset” over the Logies article.

“It’s just the media, but sometimes you can take it to heart and you can believe it all, and I feel like that’s kind of what happened.”

While Melinda denied rumours that she and Evelyn are no longer friends, she did confirm that the pair shared a “really awkward” encounter at the Logies event.

“When I went over to say hi and hug Ev at the event, she didn’t give me a hug,” she revealed. “So I was really awkward and taken back, I went into the corner where Tahnee, Ollie and Layton were and I stayed over there. Channel Nine was interviewing and taking photos anyway over there.

“I spoke to Ev later on and she said that she thought it was me that wasn’t going to give her the hug, so she was also awkward. So everything’s ok, it’s just, yeah.”

This comes shortly after Melinda revealed to Heatworld earlier this month that there is a “huge divide” amongst the season 10 cast that viewers never got to see on TV.
