MAFS' Tahnee and Ollie share 'sad news' as they move out of shared apartment

The MAFS couple only moved into their Surry Hills apartment four months ago.

Married At First Sight’s Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton shared a surprising update with fans during a late night Instagram Live on Friday, revealing they’re moving out of the Sydney townhouse they share – just four months after moving into the inner-city property.

The pair clarified this doesn’t mean they’re breaking up and are looking for another rental as a couple, but they’ve been forced to move after feeling unsafe in Surry Hills following several incidents.

Speaking to co-star Melissa Sheppard on her Instagram Live after she complimented their home, Ollie responded: “I tell you who else loves our apartment,” with Tahnee finishing his sentence, adding: “The crackheads down the road.”

Ollie went on: “The unsavoury folk love our f**king townhouse as well and they’re doing all sorts…”

Yahoo Lifestyle understands that the pair have had several run-ins with local drug and alcohol abusers, even coming home one day to find a group of people “partying in their garage” after "forcing their way inside".

Melissa called their revelation “sad news” as the apartment itself was stunning.

Ollie first moved in with 27-year-old Tahnee over Christmas, leaving Perth to join her in her tiny Bondi studio apartment, which was featured on the show.

In February, the pair then relocated to a bigger place in Surry Hills, which they’re now having to leave.

Tahnee's tiny Bondi apartment

Back in March, MAFS fans were left divided over Tahnee’s studio apartment in Bondi, With Olliw even commenting on how tiny it was.

Ollie joked that the "snug" and "cosy" apartment cost more per week than his townhouse in Perth, adding, "That's on the housing crisis."

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts with one user joking, "Damn I thought my one-bedroom apartment was tiny but now I think I might be rich."

"[Tahnee’s] apartment though, is that for real?" another said.

"That teepee is bigger than Tahnee's apartment," a third joked about the teepee the pair sat under for a picnic date.

"Thank goodness Tahnee’s apartment is a shoebox size with no cupboards. No arguments there," someone else joked, referencing Melinda Willis and Layton Mills' argument in the same episode.

"The smallness of that apartment is actually quite shocking," another fan wrote.

"She’s living in a shoebox of an apartment but has Balenciaga shoes," one person pointed out.

"There is nothing wrong with her apartment..she's real," a Facebook user wrote.

Similar apartments have been leased for around $420 per week in Bondi.
