MAFS' Kate shocks with X-rated confession during live radio interview

While she’s become known on season nine of Married At First Sight as the bride who’s never been in a relationship before, Kate Laidlaw has now opened up about her sex life.

The 38-year-old nutritionist, who is ‘married’ to Matt Ridley in the experiment, joined The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Thursday morning when she spoke candidly about her romantic history and dating struggles.

The X-rated topic came up when Kate was grilled by host Kyle Sandilands about her sexual chemistry with Matt on the show and the fact that she’s never had a boyfriend in her life.

“I have dated a lot, trust me,” she said. “I have come across different men and I think women listening can probably relate, dating is very hard these days.”

“So you’ve had sex with blokes?” Kyle asked.

“I have had sex, I’ve had a lot of sex,” Kate admitted, leaving Kyle stunned by her confession before she backtracked.

“Well, not a lot,” she laughed. “I guess my relationships have been like three months at a time but I haven’t got to that girlfriend stage, I haven’t got that title.”

When asked about why she is yet to have sex with her ‘husband’ Matt in the experiment, Kate explained she wanted to have a “deep connection” first.

“I didn’t want to force intimacy,” she said. “And you’re on national TV, you don’t want to have sex for no reason. You want to make sure that there’s something there.”

‘It’s not a great feeling’

Kate’s comments come shortly after her audition tape was posted on 9Now, where she shared details about her “embarrassing” dating life and why she decided to sign up for the controversial reality TV show.

“Basically my dating life has just been a lot of rejection, a lot of sadness, a lot of tears and feeling like I'm not good enough to be anyone's girlfriend,” she said.

“I don't know what to do anymore, I don't want to make those same mistakes because I don't want to lay in my bed at night and cry because someone's rejected me and told me I'm not good enough. It's not a great feeling.”

Married At First Sight airs at 7pm on Sunday and 7:30pm on Monday to Wednesday on Channel Nine and 9Now.
