MAFS EXCLUSIVE: The show's mysterious narrator finally revealed
Despite what the internet says, it’s not Georgie Gardner.
It’s one of the greatest mysteries in Australian reality TV history: Who is the narrator on Married At First Sight?
The unnamed voice-over artist is arguably the most important person on the show as they provide essential context for all the drama, love stories and cheating scandals to keep viewers updated each episode.
They are also one of the sassiest ‘characters’ on MAFS, regularly taking subtle swipes at the brides and grooms hidden beneath their friendly tone of voice
Viewers have long praised the narrator for being the show’s “MVP” and described her as “iconic”, “hilarious” and “savage”. The show’s participants are also big fans of the narrator, with season 10 groom and fellow voiceover artist Ollie Skelton saying she’s “MAFS’ most slept-on star”.
“It would be the best gig in the world,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I reckon there’s a tongue in cheek she brings to the reads which I think on paper would be quite dry.”
Janelle Han adds that despite being on the receiving end of some of her quips, she doesn’t hold anything against the narrator and is a big fan of her “calming voice”.
“She has great storytelling abilities that are so engaging,” she tells us. “Her role is important when it comes to storytelling for the show because not everything is on air - whether or not the story is accurate is a different conversation.”

While both IMDb and Wikipedia credit Channel Nine news presenter and former Today host Georgie Gardner as the current narrator of MAFS, Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal this isn’t the case.
Georgie narrated the first four seasons of the reality show from 2015 to 2017, however, Australian actress Helen Dallimore has since taken on the role.
Helen’s representatives confirm to Yahoo Lifestyle that Helen joined the show in season five and is narrating the current season.
Who is Helen Dallimore?
Helen Dallimore is a NIDA graduate with several TV and theatre credits in Australia and the UK over the past three decades.
Over the past two decades she’s appeared on All Saints, House Husbands and Here Come the Habibs, and had a brief stint on Home and Away in 2010 as Marilyn Chambers’ friend Mitzy Fraser.
On stage, she famously originated the role of Glinda in the West End production of Wicked alongside Idina Menzel, Miriam Margolyes and Adam Garcia in 2006. She’s also acted in productions of Into The Woods, Legally Blonde, Muriel’s Wedding and most recently, Girl from the North Country.
Helen has also received numerous awards throughout her career and now that she’s been revealed as the MAFS narrator, it’s time to start the petition for her to win the Gold Logie!
