MAFS EXCLUSIVE: The secret way the brides bonded off-camera

The season 10 brides are bonded for life.

While last year’s season of Married At First Sight showcased a significant divide between the female participants, season ten is doing the opposite.

This year the brides have stood up for one another at the dinner parties, supported each other at the commitment ceremonies, and confided in one another with their biggest secrets.

Now, Lyndall Grace has revealed there’s another major way the cast bonded during filming which wasn’t shown on TV.

The 27-year-old accountant tells Yahoo Lifestyle that a few of the brides got matching Roman numeral tattoos after meeting at the very start of the season.

“When we went to the hens’ night we all got along really well, most of us are really progressive and everyone was like, we should all get little ‘X’ tattoos for season 10, we’re 10 women, we’re all 10s,” she shares.

“I know that not all of the women were comfortable getting a tattoo but that's the story behind it, just that we all want to be our best selves. And season 10, it’s something that we'll have together forever and hopefully it empowered a few of them as well.”

Lyndall went on to explain that she already had an ‘X’ tattoo going into MAFS which she got a few years earlier.

“It kind of started as a joke like I’d walk up to my friends and say, ‘Oh look at this bunch of 10s’ and all that,” she details.

“But eventually I just decided that you can choose what you rate yourself as. Not in a physical way but in a way of like, do you like yourself? Are you proud of yourself? Do you feel like you're trying to be better all the time? And if you're always trying to be better, you can't get any better than that.

“So it was a really empowering thing for me that I just kind of adopted. I am a 10, and if I feel like a 10 then I am one.”

While not all of the brides got a tattoo during filming, Yahoo Lifestyle understands that Bronte Schofield, Claire Nomarhas and Sandy Jawanda were among those that decided to get inked.

Bronte shared a photo of her forearm tattoo on Instagram last month following the dinner party where Clare’s secret kiss with Adam Seed was revealed.

“I got my ‘X’ tattoo with @cforclaire_ which represents ’10' for 10 women who all have big personalities, who all deserve love and who choose to back what they feel is right,” she wrote.

“She made a mistake - this does not make it her identity! Proud of you Claire.”
