MAFS' Carly Bowyer announces engagement to longtime partner
'So this happened...'
Six years on from when she appeared on Married At First Sight, Carly Bowyer has announced that she’s set to walk down the aisle for a second time.
The season five bride took to Instagram on Monday to share that she is officially engaged to her longtime boyfriend Neil Goldsmith.
“So this happened… What a way to end 2023!” she captioned the post.
The photo shows Carly covering her face in shock as Neil proposes on one knee alongside their three-year-old son Bailey in a picturesque rose garden.

Carly’s followers flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages, including several former MAFS brides and grooms.
“Congratulations! So happy for you!” Tracey Jewel wrote, followed by Cam Merchant who said, “Congratulations guys”.
“Wooohoooooo!!!!!!! Huge congratulations @carlybowyer and Neil. So so happy for you,” Melissa Walsh replied, while Jesse Konstantinoff added, “Massive congratulations”.
Carly and Neil have been together since 2019 and welcomed their first child together in December 2020.
MAFS engagements
2023 was quite a big year for MAFS stars getting engaged, with two of Carly’s season five co-stars announcing they are also getting married.
It was revealed in August that Dean Wells had proposed to his girlfriend, former Beauty And The Geek star Aimee Woolley, after an afternoon of camelback riding.
Speaking about his decision to tie the knot again, Dean said: “MAFS is different for everyone but for me, it was a total stitch-up and left me with a bitter taste about marriage. I was a bit scarred from the experience but when I met Aimee she renewed my faith in real, honest, true love.
“She is the sweetest, funniest, craziest and most genuine person I have ever met. We dived in head first and moved in together after just a few weeks and the next natural step was to propose.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Gallagher and Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm confirmed their engagement in March.
Ryan popped the question to Emily at a dam on his farm outside of Goulburn, NSW, with the reality star choosing a trilogy ring for his fiancée.
The couple met while filming The Challenge Australia in Argentina in August 2023 and went public with their romance just a few weeks later.
