Logies 2024: Home and Away's Emily Weir divides with see-through dress: ‘A bit cheeky'

The Logies 2024 has finally kicked off and the Home and Away cast have been busy posing on the red carpet. Fan favourite star Emily Weir, who plays Mackenzie Booth on the soap, looked incredible stepping out in an ASTON Bridal gown.

Her floor-length pink gown was covered in fabric tassels and beading details, featuring some sheer panels that left very little to the imagination. The back of her dress showed off her figure, with a strategic swath of fabric covering her modesty.

Her hair and makeup was done by former Home and Away star and current Head of Makeup Laura Vazquez, and her pink lip matched her dress perfectly. She left her hair out in soft waves around her face and she completed the look with Lola Knight jewellery.

Daring dress divides online

Her outfit choice was a hot topic after photos of her red carpet look were shared on Home and Away Facebook fan groups. Some fans were furious, with many criticising her revealing gown.

“I’m not sure why Emily (Mackenzie) bothered… beautiful but really… leave something to the imagination,” one person pointed out.

“It already looks half pulled off,” another added.

“[It’s] a bit cheeky,” a third wrote.

Fans defend Emily Weir's Logies dress

However, others defended Emily’s decision to wear the see-through dress, with many saying she looked stunning.

“If I looked that amazing I would wear that [dress]!” one person wrote.

“Love love love [her dress]!!! It’s the now fashion for celebs to have their a**es out and hey! She has a good a**,” another declared.

“Not sure why people are offended by a butt. People need to get over themselves. I guess the people complaining haven’t been to some beaches lately lol,” a third wrote.

“Damn if I had that figure I’d be proud to wear something like that. Women are meant to build each other up not tear them down! It’s her a** who cares,” a fan added.

“Emily looks amazing, all the clothes she wears on Home and Away are beautiful as well,” another said.

Emily Weir's Home and Away co-stars go wild for her Logies moment

Emily’s celebrity pals had nothing but praise for her bold fashion statement, with her Home and Away co-star Juliet Godwin saying she was a “bombshell” on Instagram.

“Emmmmyyy yassssss you sexy fairy floss fairy!!! I love you xxxxx,” added former Home and Away star Sarah Roberts.

“Wow!! Love this Em. So beautiful,” added Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts on the soap.
