Logies 2024: Boy Swallows Universe's Felix Cameron, 15, tears up during emotional speech
Fans were touched by the poignant moment when the young actor won the Graham Kennedy Most Popular New Talent award.
Boy Swallows Universe star Felix Cameron has won the Logies 2024 award for Graham Kennedy’s Most Popular New Talent in an emotional scene. The star, 15, was up against his co-star Lee Tiger Halley in the hotly contested category, and the pair joked on the red carpet they had a ‘friendly rivalry’.
“We're battling it out. The friendship’s over for the night,” Lee told Yahoo Lifestyle. “We actually hate each other off screen, so it's an absolute rivalry, always have been.”
“We've always hated each other,” Felix joked. “We have to pretend we love each other, but soon as the camera cuts, it’s a full fist fight, genuinely. You know the bruises that we have when we were characters? They were real, that was not makeup.”
The Netflix show received the most nominations at the Logies 2024 with 10 nods, and the crowd was ecstatic when the young actor went up to receive his award.

Felix held a written list of people to thank, before getting flustered by the short 30-second window of time. He thanked author Trent Dalton for the “amazing book” the series is based on, before starting to cry while thanking his parents and then his drama teacher Nadia Townsend.
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” he said. “She had a saying we were climbing a mountain, she never ever clarified whether it was Everest or the Dandenongs but I think we got there.”
