The Block's Jesse and Paige made the 'gut-wrenching' decision to leave the show on Monday night's episode. The pair met with mental health experts and decided it was time to put themselves first.
The Block's Paige: 'Wasn't acting like myself'
The couple had a very tearful goodbye with the other teams, saying that they felt "immediate" relief after making the decision. They added that they hoped it might help viewers struggling with their own mental health to take care of themselves.
"I was so angry all the time, I wasn't acting like myself," Paige said.

Jesse said Paige had been giving a "cry for help" for the last week. He explained that while he wanted to stay on the show, he had to put his fiancée first and do what was right for her.
"It was just like a black hole in my head," Paige told Kristian and Mimi. "Really bad."
Jesse added that he and Paige got into a big fight a few days prior and it had gone "too far" and gotten to the point where they'd forgotten who they are as individuals.
"It's not the end," Paige said. "Outside of [The Block] is so much more important."
Host Scott Cam told the couple, "It's a very brave decision that you've made... Nothing is more important than your mental health."
'Happiness always comes first on The Block'
"It was a duty of care moment, it was a wellbeing moment, in regards to Jesse and Paige and their departure," Scott said in a video for 9now. "I said, we are not doing anything super important here, we're just renovating. Health, well-being, happiness always comes first on The Block.
"We always make sure contestants' wellbeing is number one. Family and contestants come first all the time. And that's absolutely set in concrete.
"When these guys were struggling and we could see it, we got professional help, we had extensive chats and we made sure that they were comfortable. They made the decision themselves," the host continued. "We followed up with professional care in their home state to make sure that was ongoing for as long as they needed it."
'Thank you'
Paige and Jesse took to Instagram to share a photo of the other teams on The Block and write a short thank-you message to them.
"The most talented, hard working group of people we have ever met," they said. "We love you all."
The Block fans praise Jesse and Paige
The Block fans have praised the couple for making the difficult decision to leave, with one viewer writing on X, "Props to the producer guy for intervening! It would’ve been so hard to start that conversation! I’m glad that The Block does have counselling help – I’m not sure how amazing it is, but I’m glad it’s there."
"I hope Jesse and Paige get the help they need," another said.
"I hope they both get the help they need and have an amazing life wishing them all the best together or apart, life is too short to live like that on a daily basis," a third said.
