Aussie actress and singer Nat Bassingthwaighte has issued a heartfelt plea to the wider public to back off and leave her, her partner, her ex-husband, and her children alone after trolls targeted her relationship with Pip Loth. The star previously opened up about her same-sex relationship earlier this year, saying she's still coming to grips with navigating the media circus about her marriage breakup and new partner.

After putting a loved-up snap on Instagram with Pip earlier this week, Nat had to then limit comments on her post and recently took to Instagram again to call out the 'intentionally malicious' people commenting on her post with he girlfriend.

Sharing a photo of herself from 30 years ago where she deemed herself as "sad, lost, fragile and afraid" Nat said her Instagram page is for people who want to feel "loved and supported".

"I came across this pic the other day. This is a picture of me 30 or so years ago! I am sad, lost, fragile, afraid. I don’t like myself," Nat started the post, before going in to defend Pip, her ex-husband Cameron McGlinchey, and their kids.

"It was brought to my attention yesterday that some people felt the need to comment on my post with my girlfriend. It was intentionally malicious. How dare you suggest I am not a great mother or a great person or comment on how I look! It has taken me a long time to love who I am and I will not let you take that away," she wrote.

"I won’t lie, your hurtful comments set me back but I will be brave again, pick myself up as I always have and move forward. To comment on my relationship with my partner, my ex, and my children is uncalled for. We have all worked incredibly hard to get where we are and I am proud of all of us for that. We are safe, we are happy, and we are well."

Nat went on to add more in the comments, saying her journey to revisit and relive things from her past has been painful.

"Don’t tell me I am a bad mother because I am not. If you don’t like the way I look, don’t look. If you don’t like the love I share through pictures and words, unfollow. From right here and now I am turning off all comments to those I do not follow. I am sorry to the wonderful people who send their love and support but I will feel all the love anyway," Nat continued.

"And those that feel compelled to live a life full of bitterness and hate. I forgive you and only wish that you too can peel back the layers and discover who you really are. For now I am going to be with my kind and beautiful girlfriend on this surprise birthday week and take in the beauty of our incredible country."
