Liam Payne 'begged' girlfriend Kate Cassidy to stay in Argentina before his shock death
A friend of Kate's has said she has been left wondering if she could have prevented the One Direction singer's death.
A friend of Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy has revealed why the influencer left the One Direction singer alone in Argentina. Fans were confused when they saw Kate left Argentina a few days before he was found dead after falling from a balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina.
Kate reportedly agonised over leaving Liam alone and has been left wondering if she could have prevented his death. Her friend tells The Post that Kate was nervous Liam would go on a bender if she wasn't around, but she couldn't keep extending her trip.

"She can’t leave, or else who knows what will happen? And if she leaves, what will he do? But she has other responsibilities, other things that she’s supposed to be doing. So she finally had to make a decision," the friend said.
Kate and Liam were meant to be in Argentina for just four days, but extended to over two weeks.
"They’re in Argentina and it’s like a hostage situation," they said. "So she tells him she wants to leave, this is after a week. He begs her to stay. She keeps extending her trip, a day, two days. And he just wants her to stay, stay, stay."
They added that Kate really wanted to go home to her own bed and see her dog.
Kate shares eerie detail before Liam's death
Kate shared a video of her flying home, revealing she was only meant to be in Argentina for five days but stayed for two weeks.
She also shared an eerie detail from her flight, with the influencer being sat in the 1D seat on the plane. "Of course my seat was 1D, I feel like this happens every time I fly," she said, before saying she had anxiety before flying and showing footage of a rash on her neck.
Fans were left confused after Liam's death as the singer shared videos on Snapchat, documenting his time in Argentina with Kate. However, it is believed these videos were pre-recorded and posted on the day of his tragic death, as Kate was already home by this point.
Liam Payne's cause of death announced as police treat death as 'suspicious'
Before Liam's shock death, the manager from Casa Sur Hotel called emergency services claiming they had a "guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol" before saying, "He's destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please."
Alberto Crescenti, head of the Buenos Aires’ public emergency medical services later revealed Liam fell around "14 metres".
Liam's cause of death was a result of multiple injuries sustained in the fall, which led to "internal and external haemorrhaging", and a fractured skull.
"According to the emergency medical team sent to the scene he had a fracture in the base of his skull, extremely serious injuries," Crescenti said, saying that Liam was dead when paramedics arrived on scene.
"Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life."
Police have not yet released further conclusive evidence regarding the circumstances of Liam's fall, and tests are now taking place to see if the singer had consumed drugs and alcohol. Police have said they found Liam's room in "complete disarray", with prosecutors saying on Thursday that they were treating the case as a "suspicious death" due to evidence collected on the scene that indicated Liam was going through "some kind of substance abuse outbreak" at the time of his death.
The Argentine public prosecutor's office said: "Everything indicates that the musician was alone" when the fall occurred.
