Kmart shoppers rave about $45 item that solves major caravanning problem

If you ask anyone who has been camping or caravanning recently what they missed the most about being away from home, chances are they will say their bed. Travelling on the road can come with a handful of downsides like limited space and dependence on weather conditions, however, one of the most difficult parts is often having a comfortable place to sleep.

One caravan owner recently took to social media to seek a solution to this age-old dilemma, asking in a popular Facebook group if anyone had recommendations for a mattress topper “that won’t break the bank”. The user was quickly flooded with eager responses about suggested products, including Kmart’s High Loft Mattress Topper.

The mattress topper, which is filled with high loft polyester, is available for a single, double, queen or king bed ranging from $45 to $69. It has a fully fitted polyester stretch skirt to cover the entire mattress, as well as an antibacterial top cover to keep germs away.

“Kmart’s High loft topper… we have one in our van and it’s fabulous,” one person commented, while another added, “I bought two, double the thickness”.

“I have the same one, so good,” a third replied, followed by someone else who said, “They’re so comfy”.

TikTok user @raesnaxx also recently shared a video praising the product and its thickness, telling her followers: “It is so nice, I can’t wait to sleep on it tonight.”

Other mattress topper options

If you have a slightly bigger budget, plenty of people also recommended mattress toppers from Dreamer RV. The online store sells a variety of sizes ranging from $199 to $399, and each mattress has high-quality memory foam infused with cooling gel to aid temperature regulation and an anti-slip base with elastic straps.

Others also recommended Muscle Mat, which sells six different sizes of mattress toppers online from $129 to $179.

“We love our Muscle Mat!” one shopper commented, while another agreed, “Definitely Muscle Mat. Our bed in our caravan is more comfortable than all the beds in our house”.

A different caravan owner, however, urged them not to “waste their money” on a Muscle Mat, writing: “Family all got them at the same time and none of us like sleeping on them. I also have back pain from it.”
