Although going on a holiday usually means spending time relaxing, sightseeing and unwinding from everyday life, there are still certain tasks that every traveller is faced with when in vacation mode. No one knows this more than caravan owners, who still need to cook, clean and organise even when on their adventures.

Whether it's figuring out how to neatly store shoes and other essentials on the road or cracking the code on how to make the perfect campsite meal, there are a ton of handy hacks out there to make life easier when taking your caravan for out for a weekend or even yearlong spin. And, fortunately, the caravanning community loves to share their innovations.

Taking to a popular Facebook group, one new caravanner asked, "What’s the best to use as a washing detergent in a caravan washing machine? Sorry first timer here!"

The most popular answer, by a mile, had to be a $14 item that you can easily grab at your local Woolies.

"I use the laundry sheets," someone answered. "Great invention. Use them at home now too. We always use quick dry lightweight clothes & towels."

"Laundry sheets weigh nothing and smell nice," another added.

"Woollies, in the laundry department. Laundry sheets that dissolve. Light and small to store, work well," was another response.

"I use laundry sheets. They are lightweight and compact to carry and only need half or quarter a sheet depending on the size of the sheets. Work really well. No more heavy bottles or boxes for me," yet another traveller wrote.

"I use the washing sheets. No risk of spilling and much less weight," was another reply.

Woolies shoppers who don't own caravans also seem to be big fans of the laundry sheets for at-home use and even keeping their bags smelling nice when on holiday.

"I love these! The blue box smells delish! We took ours on our holiday to Fiji, so handy for travel," one happy customer raved on the Woolies website (where the product has a 4.9-star rating).

"I took these to America and they were amazing! I shared a few sheets with others in the laundromat and they loved them," another said.

"Just used for the first time and I will never go back to powder or liquid. My house smells amazing," a third shopper raved, while several others praised the fact they are eco-friendly and that they seem to leave less build-up and residue in washing machines.

Even better, you get 60 laundry sheets in a $14 pack (although you can sometimes find them for 50% off) which means, at $14 a box, they come out to about 23c a sheet.

So, whether you're packing up your house on wheels this summer and hitting the road, jumping on a plane to somewhere far away or just hanging at home and want to find a way to make the dreaded laundry pile a little more bearable, it looks like your first stop should be Woolies!
