Kmart shoppers have been left confused over a fitness device, taking to a Facebook group to debate whether the weighted hula hoop actually made for good exercise.

One user posed the question, expressing interest in buying the product, but received mixed reviews when it came to whether it was worth purchasing or not.

Some people said while they had fun using it, it was a potential hazard in the house with the weighted ball coming off the contraption.

"I have it and do not use it anymore," one person shared. "The ball comes off randomly, the first time was nearly into my TV and the last time I used it was almost into one of my kinder students."

Another user joked to be wary of not whacking kids in the face with the product. "[It's] weird but a bit fun. Kinda boring after a while if you don’t put music on," they said. "Just don’t whack the kids in the face or knock stuff over lol."

Online its gotten positive reviews too, with some saying it's great value for the price. "Good value for money, fun way to get active. Got me several trials to master it," one person wrote.

"Is it as good as the more expensive version? Probably not but it definitely does the trick for the very reasonable price and is working perfectly well enough so far. Happy with my purchase and I find it fun to use," another said.
