Kmart shopper's $5 find perfect for caravans and motorhomes: 'Saves on space'

Bench space is prime real estate in a caravan, and we're not wasting it on just anything. So it comes as little surprise that Kmart shoppers are now racing to buy two items from the Mini range, which are now just $5 each.

The 1L Mini Kettle and Mini Toaster, which are perfect for caravaners, are down from $15 to $5. One happy camper wrote of the affordable items, "They are great, [don't] use much power."

"Saves on space," another said, while a third added, "Cute and functional. Love them."

"Love all the small appliances in the van," someone else said.

"That's awesome! Thanks for the tip!" another wrote.

"Great for caravans or motor homes," another said, with someone else agreeing, "Yes I agree, great when you don’t have a lot of bench space."

Mini airfryer also popular with caravanners

Kmart's mini range has been popular with the caravanning community, with plenty of travellers singing the praises of the space-saving gadgets. While not on sale, the mini air fryer has also proven to be a hit with people who want to exist on more than beans and toast while on the road.

"I got one for my sister for when she goes camping. Especially for her 4-year-old to have some nuggets lol," one person wrote on Facebook of the appliance.

"We have one in the van. Perfect size," another customer added.

"I got one for my mum to go in her caravan,' a third wrote. "Perfect size for just her and her partner when travelling."

The mini air fryer also attracted praise from people who said it was great for other types of travel - such as staying in motels where the cooking appliances provided are very basic.

"This would be great for people that travel regularly to be able to eat in a hotel rather than having to buy food all the time," one customer said.

Melbourne mum Loretta also raved about the gadget on TikTok, saying it "saved her life" while on a last-minute trip with her young daughter.

Kmart fans divided over 'pointless' mini range: 'Absolutely useless'

Although plenty of people raved about the mini range for caravanning and general use, many others were left divided over the range, with some calling it "absolutely useless," and "pointless" while others loved it.

Those who were less than impressed, roasted the appliances, with one person saying, "Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should."

"Who only has one slice of toast?" another questioned.

However others defended the Mini range, with a Facebook user writing, "I love the little toaster, I have a two slice toaster, but I only toast one at a time, I love my toast hot so that the butter melts. And who wants to boil a large jug for one person."

"Great for travel!" another added.

"Look. Sometimes two pieces of bread is too much," another quipped. "This is genius."

"A lot of people only have 1 piece [of toast] at a time," one Kmart shopper said. "This is also great for people travelling in a van and can only have small things."
